User questions & answers

Question: can these be installed on an already screened frame
Answer: Maybe... If your screen frame is the type that is cut at 45 degree angles at the corners, then the answer is yes, it can be done. If your screen frame pieces are cut at 90 degrees and use an exposed plastic insert to make the frame corners it will be difficult, if not impossible to slide the springs in place without first removing the screen fabric and disassembling the frame. The "Window Spring" is best installed before the corner piece is inserted into the end of the frame.
Question: When you cut the frame for a new screen, do you have to cut the lengths shorter to accommodate the spring in the top corners
Answer: The spring doesn't have impact to the frame size. The most important thing is you need to have clearance to install the screen into your window. To my experience the screen should be 1/4 smaller on each dimension to install. You can try it out.
Question: How wide are they? The length of 2 3/4 is given, but what is the width? I need 3/16 for my particular screens
Answer: These are 1/4" in width (4/16). You might be able to trim the part that goes into the frame so it fits. The rest of the clip may still be acceptable.
Question: Will these springs fit into the Prime line 1/4 inch frames
Answer: Yes. Mine is exactly 1/4 inch. It's tight but works.
Question: What temp does it run
Answer: Temp is unknown but it does its job !

User questions & answers

Question: Can I used this product on a restaurant serving window
Answer: You could. I would think you might want something made for a more commercial application, but yes, this is made for sliding windows, both vertical and horizontal.
Question: I have one large window with two Vertical sliding windows so is there a left and right lock? So when locked it points in same direction
Answer: No, this sash lock does not have a right and left handed levers.
Question: can these be used with wood sashes, or only vinyl
Answer: Absolutely. I've used them exclusively on wood windows for my last two houses.
Question: Is the smaller side designed to fit on a slant
Answer: I shimmed the smaller side since the window doesn't close evenly. You need to be level for the latch to work properly. But it is a good latch for a double hung wood window.
Question: How do you put the spline attachments on a screen as a replacement if you are not taking the screen apart
Answer: Carefully - you have to wedge them inbetween the screen and the frame, then use pliers to squeeze the spline firmly into the frame.
Question: what is the reach measurement
Answer: 1 9/16".
Question: My cats pull the screens out of the windows. Will this prevent them from doinng that
Answer: These have locked my screens from opening from the outside. So if your cats are opening your screens from the outside it will definitely help. Tip: Pre-drill the hole before hammering in the connecting post.
Question: Where can one buy just the ball screws

Question: What is the spline diameter included
Answer: I bought mine on Amazon so I just got the one the would fit my door. You could look maybe under screens on Google and see if they come in other sizes. Also it did not come in a roll but folded in a square. Make sure you use the tool correctly or it will cut it when you’re trying to install it.
Question: Any information on the thickness of the spline material
Answer: Creases disappear after you stretch on the screen. Easy application.
Question: Re: this fiberglass screen vs. their polyester one, anyone know if both/either has mesh holes that spread apart vs. keep shape
Answer: No. This is for your Windows. It's a window screen and when it rains if the window is open water does come through it. Sounds like you need something clear and solid.
Question: Hi, is this product fiberglass as the description states, or plastic as some reviews state? Can this handle summer temperatures? Thank you
Answer: No

  • Aluminum Pin
  • Black Plastic Cap
  • 4 pcs. Per package

User questions & answers

Question: Hi, what is the overall length of this latch please? Thanks
Answer: The pin is 1 15/32": and the cap is 7/16"L.
Question: Diameter of the pin
Answer: The pin is 1/8" and the base is 5/32". Please review the line drawing at the top left of webpage that have all the dimensions.
Question: Can this item replace a broken latch in an existing hole
Answer: That is how I used this part. I have screens for Marvin windows that were about 15 - 20 years old. The plastic parts were breaking off because of exposure to the weather. I liked these as they have an aluminum body. Although the cap is plastic. I just made sure the length and width matched my old ones. Pretty easy to swap out. The only hard part was when the old part broke off and I had to use a small screwdriver to wedge the screen to get the spring loaded part out holding the screen in place. I actually went to manufacturer website to get dimensions for my existing plunger. After ordering one package and they worked so well I ordered enough to replace all my windows, didn't want to wait till they broke as I knew it would be soon.
Question: Hi there, We have adapted full size aluminum screens with plungers on wood frame windows. Need the plastic receiver that the plunger fits into. Help
Answer: it is just pressure fit in the window frame the spring is supposed to hold the plunger against the frame.no receiver.
Question: Can I just buy the mounts I lost mine
Answer: go to a hardware store maybe.
Question: Does this have a velcro frame that attaches to the trailer and then you can pull the screen away from the Velcro if you need access
Answer: NO. This was the only think I didn't like about them. I had to reach in between the gaps to get to my horse.
Question: Does this screen have Velcro
Answer: Yes it does. Only four corners have the Velcro fasteners on them. Actually need one more in the center top and center bottom. My horse is a "pusher" of the window screen and it has to be fastened very securely for him.
Question: Do the 35x26 measurements refer to the rectangle size or to where the attachments to the trailer go
Answer: Hi, yes that refers to the rectangle size. Fits my trailer attachments perfectly and we have had them for 2 to 3 years. I would consider them very durable.

User questions & answers

Question: What size spline do I need for a 5mm slot
Answer: .125"=.32cm. and that will work on US screen s.
Question: do i need to downsize the spline to install a longer lasting aluminum screen
Answer: Amazon sent me your q since I recently bought this product. Check your screen to see if it currently has spline. If so you need to go ahead and get replacement. You might could use the the old but chances are it will rip enemies extracting, not last much longer, look lousy vs the new screen or all of the above.
Question: One piece
Answer: It is one piece rolled in a coil. You just unroll how much you need and cut it off. The rest stays rolled up.
Question: My screen has a spline groove that's about 1/4 inch. What size spline do I need
Answer: 1/4th inch would be .250 inches. I suggest that you pull a small piece out and take it with you to your local hardware store to compare. About 1/4 inch is not a close enough measurement. I had several screens (I think 6 screens) that were "about" 1/8 inch. I found that there were three different sizes in the mix even though they "looked" to be "about" the same.
