Answer:	Welded to the bracket. Very strong...and nice looking too.

Answer:	If this shelf is being suspended flat from the wall I doubt if these brackets would be sufficient. The short arm of the bracket extends only 7 inches. You need a much larger heavy duty bracket. Way too much overhang.
Question:	What size screws and fasteners do I need for the brackets? (purchasing 7.5" x 10.5" bracket, which comes with 1/4" predrilled holes
Answer:	I used 1/4 inch lag screws. Lag screws have large heads which will never slip through the 1/4 opening. You could also use a No. 10 or 12 screw with a washer if you are concerned with the screw head slipping through the hole. My lag's were 1 - 1/2 inch long screwed into studs.

Answer:	I use two to hold an 8 foot 1x12 shelf, and the shelf holds 10 1 gallon jugs weighing approximately 8.5 lbs each. So call it 85 lbs plus the weight of the shelf. I do not know how much more it will support.

Answer:	Our shelves were so long we did not need to secure them. Because the cost of the brackets were so low, we were able to afford 2 x 10's which looks more solid and works fine with only gravity. But we did buy pipe hangers for just in case which we did not need to use. They are U-shaped metal pcs with flat flanges on either end with holes for screws. Our top shelf is 2 pcs.18 feet long together, but over 8' high, so we're adding a steel bracket on top to secure them together. But again, gravity works for the most part. The vendor is wonderful and accommodating, and will answer any questions most likely within an hour or so from when you email him. I can't tell you how much we LOVE our full wall library.

Answer:	Our shelf has a standard size and we can not cut the length of the pipes. If you have the right power tools, you can do this yourself, but it will be a more complex DIY project, as you have to redo the thread where you cut and also the paint may be damaged during this process.

Answer:	Yes, assembly is very easy. All of the mounting screws and plastic wall anchors to secure it to a wall come with it. All that is needed is a small drill bit for drilling the hole for the plastic anchor and a philips screw driver to screw in the screws. I found it very easy and I am an average handyman.
