Answer:	The minimum frame side should be 13/16" or just over 3/4" for the cleat to attach and rest properly on the frame.

Question:	Can these be used for outside wall to hang house number plaque
Answer:	Yes if you can put screws into the surface of both it should work. From experience, I suggest you screw the plate directly into the house with the right screw for the house material. There is a slight possibility that the wind could lift the plaque of the mounting bracket, or that moisture could build up underneath the plaque.
Question:	When the 2 plates are nested how far away from the wall is the picture? What is the gap depth
Answer:	I just received my order. There will be gap between the wall and your hung item of 5/16" due to how the two pieces don't snug up to each other. Best described by saying the slot created by one piece is larger than the piece that will slide into it, a disappointment in the quality allowing my floating shelf to jiggle against the wall. If your item is intended to lean out you probably won't notice the lack of fit between the two bracket pieces but will still have the 5/16" gap.
Question:	Can these screws go through a metal door
Answer:	Use a different screw designed to penetrate a metal door and pre-drill a pilot hole. I can tell you this though, I used them to mount wall mirrors and these are the best hangers I've ever used.

Answer:	Yes, I believe it will work as long as you can secure the hanger to the bacl of the board, and yes you can use 2 hangers, top & bottom.
Question:	Will I need one or two 18” cleats to hang a 73” headboard (it’s about 30 pounds). Mostly wondering how many I need for that length
Answer:	IMO one of these into two studs will hold 30 lbs. however I would personally use 2 cleats since you probably don’t want to risk the headboard becoming imbalanced if you use 1 cleat in the center. As far as weight though if in the studs I would say you’re ok with one.
Question:	Will one cleat work for 54" wide mirror
Answer:	It mostly depends on the weight of the mirror, for the 18" set recommended limit is 90 pounds. If the mirror is located in a position where it will be frequently touched or moved against, (or if you worry about movement in a hurricane or earthquake type calamity) it might be good to use another set at the bottom to guarantee vertical stability, especially if it's very heavy. You might also consider a longer cleat if you are feeling doubtful.
Question:	would you be able to use this method for hanging paintings and frames on a slanted ceiling/wall
Answer:	If you are wanting the painting or frame to hang off the wall at an angle, this will not work for you. It will hold the frame or painting flush against the wall. I wouldn't really trust it to hold a frame with glass in it against the wall...but it might would work - depending on the weight and size of the piece.

Answer:	Can't help you with this question, but suggest you look for a source on Amazon that provides long strips of the hanger. Just cut them to whatever size suits your needs. A metal extrusion company in your town may have something like this already in their racks--or can bend to your specification.

Answer:	Why wouldn't you just use the adhesive type stuff that doesn't destroy walls?!

Answer:	Kinda depends on what your wall is made of. I usually just get the drill bits out and find a size that looks about the same as the thickest part of the anchor. If your wall is "soft"--old drywall, lightweight pressboard panelling, etc.--go for a snug fit to discourage the anchor from rotating when screws are put in. If what you're hanging is heavy, you may want to use a butterfly anchor that opens up inside the wall.

Answer:	I bought the size that goes all across the top of my mirror, probably did not need one that bigmy mirror probably weighs about 30# also. Look for the pounds the hanger is for and I am sure it would work. Love the hanger would not use any other kind. Hope this helps
Question:	Can I use it to hung 14*48 mirror on the bathroom door? Do I need to have any additional tools
Answer:	This French Cleat will definitely hold your mirror if it is mounted vertically. The only tools you need is a drill to create the pilot holes for the screws. Half of the cleat screws onto your bathroom door and the other half screws onto your mirror. Then you simply slip the mirror over the cleat on the door.
Question:	Is there anything stopping the object I'm hanging from just sliding right or left off of the wall and falling
Answer:	No, there are no locks to keep it from sliding left or right. I don't see that being an issue though as the items you would typically use this for are heavy enough that they won't move. I found on the mirror I used it with, to get it to slide left or right, I had to tilt the bottom away from the wall or it was too tightly clasped together to move it at all.
Question:	Can someone share a side view photo of installed frame/mirror? I'm concerned about how far out the picture frame would project from the wall

Answer:	You have to be able to drill holes into the back of what you are hanging--if it is just sheet of mirror with nothing on the back it will probably not work. I hunt a 50 lb. headboard onto my wall with it and it worked great, but the headboard was thick enough to accommodate the screws that were included. I would not drill into a mirror or it will shatter.

Answer:	I know product says so but I don’t think I’d trust more than 200 pounds and your wall anchors should be very secure into the wall for that. If you need heavier, I’d shop for a beefier mechanism. Good luck.

Answer:	There was no need to rout the back. I hung a king size bed board to the wall behind it...the back of the headboard was flat against the wall to which it was going to be attached...simply screwed one half of the cleat to the headboard and the other half to the wall.

Question:	I have pictures to hang on a concrete wall. do these bigteddy need drilling holes in the wall
Answer:	ABSOLUTELY!. I use these French Cleats exclusively with a husband who cuts too close to the wall and would knock things off without them. I have tons of vintage frames and mirrors which hang flush to the wall. You will need to pre-drill small pilot holes with a drill and then switch out to the screwdriver bit to drive in the screws. After you get the hang of it, they are very easy. Always suggest using blue tape to help protect the surrounding wall and directly under the cleat. You will need to rip it off underneath the cleat BEFORE you tighten down the screws all the way. Good luck.

Answer:	They give two sizes. 1” and .5” You can use whatever size you want

Answer:	Each is rated for, I believe, 50 pounds so yes I believe they should hold the weight. We employed two to hold a mirror weighting a lot more than 10 pounds and it isn't going anywhere. When mounting the one to the wall spend the time to make sure it is level and same with the one you attach to the register. Measure three times, check and re-check and your results should look fantastic and secure.
Question:	Have a mirror 78" long but only 65 lbs. Can I use this set of 4, 1 in each corner,so all corners are secured? And would that increase the weight limit
Answer:	This will not increase the weight limit. It will just hold the max weight more evenly distributed. For example, if you had three 65 pound drywall anchors, this does not mean you can hang something that weighs 195 pounds on it. However, they will hold a 65 pound object very securely between all three.

Just drill the hole for the mount on a wall, you may need a level to drill a parallel hole and I personally download a mobile level.



Then, you can insert anchors and screws. Please remember the long screw is for the wall and the shorter screw is for the picture frame.

Answer:	The top is 3/16” from the wall and the bottom is pretty much touching the wall. It isn’t really much different than most pictures when you hang them with other hooks, wires and things. I love how you know it’s straight and it’s secure. This is the ONLY way I will be hanging any pictures in the future!
Question:	Can I use the screws that come with it to attach to a plaster wall
Answer:	If it is old school plaster, I would say no way. If you’re talking about modern sheet rock, I’d say it’s okay as long as whatever you’re hanging isn’t very heavy. If it’s heavy at all or to be safe, use appropriate wall anchors or screw it into a wall stud.
Question:	Is it easy to bring the picture down and put back up? Sometimes my boss likes to take the picture down to show others
Answer:	It's extremely easy to take the picture down. But it's even easier to put it back up! With a wire you have to fight to get it back on that little hook. But with the Hangman you simply put it over the area of the cleat and it guides itself in! And if it isn't centered perfectly, there is much more room to adjust. Answer:	I know this is an old question, but the answers provided which indicate 10 sets of 2 do not seem accurate anymore. I ordered this item March 2016 by "BCTC Products Deals" and it only provided 10 individual pieces (ie, 5 sets of 2).

Answer:	The average load achieved by a 2” Z-clip was determined to be 478 lb with a vertical load. The load test was done just for one clip.

Step 1 : Fix Z Clip On The Frame

Prepare an electric drill or screwdriver.

Install the Z clip ( with short screws )on the pcture frame.

If the frame is too wide or too heavy, we suggest that install 2 clips.

Step 2 : Drill Holes Carefully On The Wall

Just drill the hole for the mount on a wall, you may need a level to drill a parallel hole and I personally download a mobile level.

Step 3 : Insert Screws According to Holes

Insert anchors and screws. Please remember the long screw is for the wall and the shorter screw is for the picture frame.

Step 4 : Hang Your Frame and Done

Just simply hang the item and remember to check if the picture is parallel or not. if it is not, you can try to adjust the angle a little.
