Then, holding the lock with the colored edge (where you can see the numbers) on the right, turn the top silver shackle 1/4 turn towards you (counter-clockwise). If you look at the top, this quarter turn aligns the notch at the bottom of the shackle with one of the grooves in the lock. Now let the shackle fall down slightly into the groove (will only go a small way down). You now need to push down kinda hard and turn the shackle 1/4 turn more counter clockwise. The loop of the shackle will now be directly over the numbers on the colored part... Now move the dials to your own combination. When you have the numbers you want, turn the shackle 1/4 turn clockwise (back in the opposite direction). Then lift straight up out of the small groove. Remember that once you push the shackle down to lock, it won't be locked until you turn the numbers to get your combination out of the colored window... |

The 3/16in (5mm) diameter shackle is 5/8in (16mm) long and made of hardened steel, offering extra resistance to cutting and sawing. The 4-pin cylinder prevents picking and the dual locking levers provide resistance against prying and hammering. | Answer: | To be clear, each 2-lock pack ships with two identical keys. Per "Keyed Alike" in product description, and "Same Key Opens Both Locks" on the packaging, either key will open both locks, so you can keep one with you and store the other in a safe place in case you lose your primary one. |

| Answer: | The distance from one leg of the U to the other leg IS 9X16 ths of an inch (or 4.5 x 8ths of an inch) just measured it for you ., Also note the distance from the lock flat part inside the hoop to the start of the hoop is again 9x16ths of inch. On the manufacturers speck it confirms 9x16th of an inch (shown as C: 9/16", grim) but remember if you are NOT fitting it to somthing round, say pipe, tube ect, you can not count the top part of the loop , so thats why the useable space for fitting around a flat item is only 9x16th of an inch, thats why I noted in my review that the lock sticks up when fitted to the case it is recommended for as the handle it goes through is square/flat not tubular.hope that helps, now back to fitting my kitchen sink. |
