Question:	Do I need the piece of wood behind the rail
Answer:	yes. the screw holes in the metal bar may not align with the wall studs. using a back board allows you to place the bar where you need it to allow the sliding door to go where it needs to go. plastic anchors in the plaster board may not provide the necessary support for the bar, the door, and the added strain caused by the movement of the sliding door.
Question:	Is a 4.75" clearing from my ceiling to the top of the door frame enough space
Answer:	I have one installed where rail mount bolts are 4.5” on center from ceiling. There’s maybe 5/8” clearance to hang/remove door. It’s tight. If you could slide the door on to the rails from the side you might be able to get rail bolt centers as close as 3.75” from top based on what I’m looking at but I’d dry fit before committing
Question:	My door is only 1 inch thick. Bought the unit failing to consider this. Is it still possible to use it
Answer:	I'm confused about the 1 inch issue, specifications say 3/4 - 1 3/4! My door is 11/4 , does this kit accommodate that?

Answer:	The maximum door panel thickness is 1 3/4 inch and the distance of the door to the drywall is about 1/8 inch.

Question:	How high does the roller and hook sit above the rail? I'm mounting doors right above the rail and need to know how much vertical clearance is needed
Answer:	From top of hook to bottom of wheel on the track is 4”. You would probably want to figure 4.25” to 4.5 “ to be safe.
Question:	how high do you mount the rail above the door
Answer:	We mounted it just slightly above the door frame, a few inches above.
Question:	what is the height of the track spacers? How far does the track end up off of the wall when installed
Answer:	I installed this on a home I was flipping so I can't get you an exact measurement. I can tell you the clearance was not sufficient to allow a very thin door to clear the standard door casing/trim. I diy'd it with some rubber washers.
Question:	Not familiar with header boards. What size do I get to work with this hardware? Thanks
Answer:	Width: whatever you want for looks. Thickness: whatever you need for clearance. I would think, in almost any scenario, a 1x4 or 1x6 would suffice. FWIW I ended up not using a header and just put an additional spacer on the lag to get the clearance I needed for the slider to clear the existing casing.

Question:	Can you mount the rail directly to the drywall / studs? Or do you have to install a header board first
Answer:	You can mount directly to the studs. However, you are likely to need to drill at least some new holes in the rail to place it where you want. Strangely, the unit I installed had pre-drilled holes on 17" centers (what?????). I used black electrical tape on the back of the rail so the wall color did not show through the pre-drilled holes that were not used. If your framing is already exposed it might be worth installing some 2x6 blocking, but if not you can drill your own holes where you need them. The hassle to value ratio of the rock repair is not worth it IMHO. Good luck with your project.
Question:	What thickness of door work
Answer:	Accommodate wood door thickness up to 35 - 45mm. For door thickness 35 - 40mm, please use screws M10X55, for door thickness 40 - 45mm, please use screws M10x60.
Question:	I have a 4 inch space from my ceiling to the top of the doorway. What's the measurement from the top of the hanger to the bottom of the wheel
Answer:	I don't happen to have the dimensions available with me at this time but I can tell you if you only have 4 inches from the top of the door opening to the ceiling, you will probably not be able to use any barn door hardware. The rail that the rollers sit own needs to be mounted above the door opening as well as the space for the rollers. You also need about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the bottom of the rail to the top of the door itself. All of that will add up to more than 4". This is a great question as most novice installers won't even think about this when purchasing barn door hardware. I commend you for the forethought of the installation prior to purchase.
Question:	How close the door remains to the wall when its open? Can insects and pests enter through the sides when closed
Answer:	The gap depends on the door/weather stripping but ours is around an inch to the wall, would be okay for preventing pests roughly the size of elephants.

Question:	can you use a connector piece to attached two of these together
Answer:	You might be able to use two rails together, butted up next to each other. You wouldn't want to use a connector, as it would cause a potential "road block" for the wheels, or cause the wheels to potentially jump off of the track. If you butt the rails together, you should be fine. I would also recommend that you use a piece of 1x4 pine to mount to the wall first. Cut the pine to the length of the track(s). You can then secure the pine board to the wall using screws, And make sure you go into the studs. You can then secure the rail system to the board, this is the easiest way to ensure your system will be secure, and will hold the heaviest barn door with ease. Paint the pine board to your liking, it actually makes for a nice back "accent" piece.
