Question:	Do I need the piece of wood behind the rail
Answer:	yes. the screw holes in the metal bar may not align with the wall studs. using a back board allows you to place the bar where you need it to allow the sliding door to go where it needs to go. plastic anchors in the plaster board may not provide the necessary support for the bar, the door, and the added strain caused by the movement of the sliding door.
Question:	Is a 4.75" clearing from my ceiling to the top of the door frame enough space
Answer:	I have one installed where rail mount bolts are 4.5” on center from ceiling. There’s maybe 5/8” clearance to hang/remove door. It’s tight. If you could slide the door on to the rails from the side you might be able to get rail bolt centers as close as 3.75” from top based on what I’m looking at but I’d dry fit before committing
Question:	My door is only 1 inch thick. Bought the unit failing to consider this. Is it still possible to use it
Answer:	I'm confused about the 1 inch issue, specifications say 3/4 - 1 3/4! My door is 11/4 , does this kit accommodate that?

Question:	Can you mount the rail directly to the drywall / studs? Or do you have to install a header board first
Answer:	You can mount directly to the studs. However, you are likely to need to drill at least some new holes in the rail to place it where you want. Strangely, the unit I installed had pre-drilled holes on 17" centers (what?????). I used black electrical tape on the back of the rail so the wall color did not show through the pre-drilled holes that were not used. If your framing is already exposed it might be worth installing some 2x6 blocking, but if not you can drill your own holes where you need them. The hassle to value ratio of the rock repair is not worth it IMHO. Good luck with your project.
Question:	What thickness of door work
Answer:	Accommodate wood door thickness up to 35 - 45mm. For door thickness 35 - 40mm, please use screws M10X55, for door thickness 40 - 45mm, please use screws M10x60.
Question:	I have a 4 inch space from my ceiling to the top of the doorway. What's the measurement from the top of the hanger to the bottom of the wheel
Answer:	I don't happen to have the dimensions available with me at this time but I can tell you if you only have 4 inches from the top of the door opening to the ceiling, you will probably not be able to use any barn door hardware. The rail that the rollers sit own needs to be mounted above the door opening as well as the space for the rollers. You also need about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the bottom of the rail to the top of the door itself. All of that will add up to more than 4". This is a great question as most novice installers won't even think about this when purchasing barn door hardware. I commend you for the forethought of the installation prior to purchase.
Question:	How close the door remains to the wall when its open? Can insects and pests enter through the sides when closed
Answer:	The gap depends on the door/weather stripping but ours is around an inch to the wall, would be okay for preventing pests roughly the size of elephants.

Answer:	It is the length of the spacer about 1 3/8. If the door opening is with trim, you need to mount a board onto the wall and then attach the rail onto the wooden board.

Answer:	The barn door hardware kit is made of metal. Because I was installing it into drywall instead of concrete, & not all of the screw holes lined up with a stud, I just installed a piece of standard pine construction wood (3/4” or 1” x 3” or 4”) over the wall & attached the metal hardware kit to that. This allows you to attach the wood to as many studs as possible & use the strength of the wood and the studs to support the door. The kit comes with instructions for installation to concrete or drywall. The drywall instructions say to use wood as I’ve described. If I’d had the money, I would have shopped por a piece of aged wood to use to add essence.
Question:	What are the actual dimensions of the door in height and width? I have a 54" opening to cover
Answer:	There is no door. This is the hardware to hang your own door. It’s 5ft long. You would want hardware twice the size of your door. So this would be too small for you. For 54” you would probably want two doors. This hardware kit is just for one door.

Answer:	The actual pocket size from sewn edge to sewn edge is 4 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches. The plastic pouch is pleated over on either sewn edge which gives a little more space for shoes as they protrude forward. I was trying to use these as a creative way to display books in my classroom but most are about 5 inches wide, so they do not fit perfectly in the pouches. While this item won;t work for me because of this, I can say that for the price the quality and construction of this item is great.

Answer:	I have 2 inch wood doors and the hooks weee far to small. I nailed mine into the door . I would say the width would be no more than 1/34 inches at the most

Answer:	I tried a size 13 men's boat shoe. It fit, but only about a third of the way. I honestly don't think a regular sneaker or dress shoe would stay in.

You will need 6" clearance from the top of your door to the ceiling (or crown molding, if any) for this kit to fit correctly.

Fit for door panel thickness: 1-3/8 to 1-3/4".

This hardware kit can hold door weight 230lbs.

The gap between door and cabinet is 3/5" based on 1-1/2" thick door.

To help you choose the fit kit, we recommend the track length shoulde be twice of the doors width at least, and you can also cut the track into any length to meet your need.
