I bought this item because I wanted my gate to open with my F250 integrated gate opener, but I did not read correctly and it results that my integrated ford system is not Home link. My F250 has a Car2U system. Now I bought this (Multicode 1099-50 - 310 MHz Receiver 12-24 Volt 300). I have not installed yet but it seems to work with CAR2U system. You have to investigate if your Hummer is "Car2u or Home link". Ford has both systems. If it is Home link it should work well. For the voltage you have to go to your gate opener motor to investigate if there is a 12V or a 24V feed in it.

These door knobs are for interior use only, and includes a 17/64 in. x 3-1/2 in. steel spindle with 3/8 in. -20 threads.

This classic style door knob set fits square drive spindle systems commonly found in antique and vintage door hardware sets, and it can adjust to accommodate different door thicknesses. The diecast base on these knobs include the set screws for fastening the knobs to the square spindle, but it does NOT include any of the following components and they must be purchased separately: The internal mortise lock body, the door rosettes, the trim and strike plates, or the latch and fasteners. For matching rosettes see Prime-Line’s model number E-2543. Products like Fix-It-All and Bondo Body Filler have worked well for some, but care must be used to avoid damaging any prefinished door surfaces during application and finishing.

Installation tip #2: Apply a small amount of Loctite ThreadLocker 271 to the set screw threads in the event they are loosening – Loctite purchased separately.

Answer:	The two glass knobs attach to the square metal rod by small screws on the knobs. I would say no to them being used as a dummy knob since the knob themselves cannot be attached directly to the door. You could drill a smaller diameter hole than the metal rod, then insert it through the door and put the knobs on. You would still need some type of finish plate since there is none included with this knob.
Question:	Will the 2328 door knobs fit through the silver plate E2439 door knob rosettes
Answer:	Two things will determine your answer: your overall door thickness, PLUS the thickness of both silver plates(one on each side of the door) compared to the length of your rod when both knobs are secured at each end. You could also reuse the current rod, if not damaged.
