Question:	Does the keypad light up, my hallway is very dark and my kids would need to see the numbers
Answer:	We installed my father's lock on December 26th - by January 1st, the lock was dead .. installed 4 more high quality batteries on January 1st and today (January 11th), battery status is down to 19% ... Just got off the phone with Kwikset and now they are telling me that if my father's router isn't on their list of compatible routers, all batteries will drain extremely fast ... would have been nice to have known that --- we bought this for my 93 year old father who lives alone ... not happy with Kwikset right now.
Question:	Do I have to pay for the app
Answer:	Yes, it has a physical key. If you currently have a Kwikset lock, you can refer this lock to use you current Kwikset key.

Answer:	No. This is a conventional deadbolt
Question:	Experts pointed out that the small re-key hole indicates to burglars the internals are made of plastic and makes it easy to break, has this been fixed
Answer:	That is not true. The Kwikset lock uses a side-bar design and has never been plastic. They can, however, be broken using a steel tool that fits the key way, same as most any lock.

Before you start re-keying, you must have your functioning key, your new key, and the SmartKey Learn tool.

Step 1:

Insert the key that currently operates your lock, and rotate it 90 degrees clockwise.

Step 2:

A) Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole.

B) Remove the SmartKey tool and the current key

Step 3:

A) Fully insert your new key into the lock and rotate it 180 degrees.

B) Rotate the new key 90 degrees back to the starting position, and remove it. Your lock is now re-keyed to your new key, and your old key will no longer operate the lock.

Answer:	Without looking it up I would guess one is silver and the other bronze as I ordered one of each.
Question:	Any idea if user codes can be remotely enabled/disabled with this
Answer:	I have mine connected to my Ring Alarm and I can add & remove user codes from the Ring app. It will be dependent on the app used.

Answer:	Yes, it matched my satin nickel door handles/dead bolts I had on my door that I got from Lowe’s. I just switched out the deadbolt part and they are a matching pair. :)
