Answer:	First of all make sure your using alkaline batteries for some reason they work the best with these.. check and make sure that all of your holes are lined up with the lock.. if they're not lined up properly sometimes the combination lock will not work right..

Answer:	Latch plate alignment is a problem with all sorts of locks. When I upgrade passage sets in my house I often find it necessary to file the plate to get alignment correct. And I do the same with exterior locksets at a commercial facility that I help to manage, including the installation of thousand dollar Trilogy locks. The alignments of different manufacturers' locksets can't be assumed. Just sayin...

Answer:	Scott - this is a mechanical system with no electronics. You set the numerical code by inserting "blank" spacers where you don't want to include a number in the code...and easy and foolproof process. We use a similar mechanism for our controlled substance lock box. By the way - a solid lock that is truly unaffected by water (even from a high pressure washer) unlike every electronic entry lock I've owned which I had to tape over before pressure washing or buy a new one after.

Answer:	Hi dear, the code can be selectively deleted. You don't need to delete all codes. To delete a code, you can follow the steps below. ① Push the HuTools button twice; ② Enter your own master code (which you have set before); ③ Push the HuTools button once, then the HuTools button will has green light (not flash) and there's a long sound beep. ④ Press the number button " 3 ", the HuTools button will has green light flash and a long sound beep. ⑤ Enter the UNWANTED user code, then push HuTools button once. The HuTools button will has green light flash and a long sound beep. The unwanted user code is deleted.
Question:	Is there any lockout value in case someone is attempting to guess the password? Such as stop functioning for a minute after 3 unsuccessful attempts
Answer:	To lock the door from outside, there's three ways to lock it. Firstly, you can enable the auto lock feature. The bolt will extend out automatically in 30 seconds after unlocking. And you can also change the auto lock delay time. Please kindly refer to the program instruction. You can download them from the Technical Specification in this product page. Sencondly, you can lock it by manually. Press any button on keypad for 2 seconds. Or you can lock it by the key.
Question:	Has anyone ever had an issue w/ this lock whereby pressing the Schlage logo/button at the top it automatically unlocks? This has just happened to us
Answer:	Hi dear, to lock it from outside, please press any one button on keypad for 3 seconds. The second way to lock it is to set the auto lock feature, please press HuTools+HuTools+your master code+HuTools+5+1+HuTools. First time set the auto lock feature, the delay time is 30 seconds. To change the auto delay time, please press HuTools+HuTools+your master code+HuTools+8+seconds time number+HuTools. Question:	There is a keyhole on the outer side of the lock, what is it for
Answer:	Hi, please kindly check your resetting steps. ( Insert three batteries first, then use a pin to stick into the reset hole. Keep holding the pin for about 10 seconds, meanwhile insert the fourth battery. After you hear the beep sound and the deadbolt latch going out, you can release the pin on the reset hole.) If the steps are the same and not work, please re-install the lock and check the cable connecting tightly. The mounting screws are not so tight when installing. Answer:	Haven’t had to change batteries yet, installed couple months ago. On our previous house we changed the batteries around 8 month’s, it beeped after locking when batteries were low
Question:	Can you prevent it from locking automatically
Answer:	Of course yes, the auto-lock feature automatically re-locks your doors, by default, in 30s after unlocking. But if you wanna disable the auto-lock function, you can change it in just simple 4 steps. Before operation, you need to make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is opened, then (1) enter your existing programming code; (2) Press TACKLIFE button, you will hear one beep; (3) Press 5; (4) Press TACKLIFE button again. You will hear two beeps if the change successed, otherwise, three beeps will indicate the chage in unsuccessful.

Answer:	The Kwikset 99130-002 SmartCode 913 does not have Alexa built in and since it is a Z-Wave protocol device, it will not work with any of the hub-enabled Echo devices. However, if you get a Z-Wave compatible hub, such as Samsung Smartthings hub, you can incorporate that into your network (pretty easy), then you can tell (or ask) Alexa to lock the door. Answer:	That is probably best asked of Kwikset who can be reached at their website. My opinion is that if it can be subjected directly to moisture (rain, snow) and extreme temperatures that would be a problem since the keypad is on the outside. The main electronics are in the inside unit and would thereby be protected. I have one installed on my front door but it is protected by a storm door and roof over the front stoop. If practical the installation of a storm door would probably give it the necessary protection.

Answer:	No it is not , i have this lock and if it gets wet it glitches badly . I have to put a piece of plastic over the lock to keep it from getting wet . Hope that helps you
Question:	Can it withstand direct rain
Answer:	I have mine exposed to rain and snow. Not directly since it’s an owning there but so far is working perfectly. Even below zero temperatures. We are in Chicago.
Question:	So there is no way to lock this from the inside
Answer:	I assume you mean from outside entry. If so then yes there are two ways. Normally it will automatically lock after a couple of seconds, unless it is in “passage“ mode. There is a switch on the inside just above the handle for private or general mode. In private mode it will be locked and only an administrator can open it from the outside. There is no way to lock it such the people on the inside cannot get out.
Question:	Stuck in passage mode after a year. Can we fix it
