Answer:	Hi Robert, Thank you for your inquiry. For this particular single-sided handle, there are two ways to install it on a door. The first method would require you to drill holes through the door and use the included bolts and decorative fittings to install the handle. For reference, the decorative fittings would hide the protruding bolts on the other side of the door. The second method only works if your door is made of wood. We have included wood screws with the handle, which should allow you to perform blind installation; hence, drilling a hole all the way through would not be necessary. However, please note that this method will require that the wood screw does not break thru and show on the opposite side of the door as it will not be visually pleasing. Depending on the door thickness, the supplied wood screws may or may not work for your application - you would have to measure by setting up the components to visually inspect. If the supplied wood screws do not work (only 1 length is provided), you may have to procure the appropriate length wood screws that do not break thru the other side of the door and still fits thru the accessories - thread type does not matter (metric or inches). Unfortunately, we do not have any handles that have an exact 24-inch center-to-center mounting distance. For this particular model, the closest that we have is 29.92 inches and for other models the closest one is 23.62 inches. With that said, we regret to inform you that neither of them would fit on your door because of the difference between the center-to-center mounting distances. Answer:	Does not actually seal. It acts as an insulator to keep cold air out of house from attic in winter and cool a/c air in house in summer.I find it works very well for that at a fair price.

Answer:	Im not sure of the R value, the product is fairly thin. I did word extremely well this past summer it is good at holding the warm air out. I could feel the difference when I had to move the cover to enter the attic. It worked much better than the Water heater blanket I was using

There are 2 warnings for battery power, but instructions say to replace batteries yearly even without seeing warning. If changed quickly, you don't lose anything, but they say you don't lose programming-only date and time if slow like me!

Answer:	Your question is not very clear, but what I think you want to know is : haw far is the door from the wall? It is approx. 1", It depends on the thickness of your door.You can also manipulate the space slightly by offsetting the rollers of the center of the doors. Hope this is helpful.

Question:	How is this installed exactly
Answer:	There is usually an I bolt already in your attic ladder pull down door. Just remove the I bolt and then screw the kit provided threaded bolt into the back of the brass loop and push the other end of the threaded bolt through the existing hole the existing I bolt came out in your attic pull down door. Next place the kit provided washer and nut on the other end of the threaded bolt and tighten down with an adjustable wrench or small socket wrench. You should not need the cup hook supplied in the kit. The cup hook is there as an alternative way to install a hook if you don’t have the I bolt version. The existing I bolt usually is where the pull down cord is tied. I changed out two and they work very, very well. Hope this helps.

Answer:	No, they are not "generic" enough. They are manufacturer specific. If your ladder was not made after 2010 you should not order these.

Answer:	Yes they do, but the hole pattern is different from what I had. The "newer" pivot plates were smaller. I had to drill out the pivot pins and use harden bolts and washers to mount my older style plates.
Question:	I have a older set pre- 2010 yet your picture for 2010 and over looks like the correct set? My hinge has that square box with the hinge -to pivot
Answer:	All hinges have a pivot point, the 55-1 uses a 5/16" x 3" lag screw to replace the pivot point. The 55-2 and the 55-1 are different and not interchangable. Werner ladder is the manufacturer, and the correct replacement part for a pre-2010 Werner ladder is a 55-1. This is for a Werner ladder only, if it is manufactured after 2010 you need a 55-2.
