Answer:	I'm no expert on wood, but I know it is not laminate. It looks like it would be a sold piece of wood that is stained. Looks just like the picture. Probably pine, because it is very light weight and I would imagine oak would be heavier. We keep magazines on the bottom and still manage to move it easily to other locations as needed.
