Question:	Are these interchangeable with the Kenmore
Answer:	The OD of the discharge end is approximately 1" in diameter. It will fit easily into a 1 1/2 or 2" drain. It has accordion folds at critical areas so you can actually stretch and bend the rather rigid thin plastic tubing to fit it into the drain. I'm not aware that the male end is actually designed to fit into any standard hose. The end that fits into the washer is proprietary and has what appears to be nylon clip that goes around the washer end to secure the hose in place with two screws after you snap it into the proprietary hole in the washer. Gone are the days when you can attach a flexible rubber hose to the washing machine and run it to where ever. The drain needs to be pretty close to the washer. You might be able to get as much as 4' from the washer outlet at the bottom of the machine to your drain. Attaching a hose to the semi rigid drain hose would be difficult, since you can't really easily clamp the plastic down over another hose or, since the drain hose has very minimal structural integrity, it would be questionable to clamp a hose down over the rather very thin and fragile plastic. I was very careful reusing the existing fragile plastic locking clamp that holds the hose to the bottom of the machine too. You need this clamp because I wouldn't trust that the hose would stay in the machine without it. So check to make sure the clamp is OK when you replace the hose. Basically the drain hose system on this machine is not robust and is definitely under designed and delicate to say the least.
