Answer:	When you receive this in the mail you have to screw the pipe into the base and the cap on they are not permanently fitted so what I do is lay my board and then screw the cap on so that the cap actually holds on to it. If you get the 10 inch pipe it should fit.
Question:	I live in the NY area do I require a permit for this type of canopy
Answer:	The 12 inch brackets measure approximately 12.5" from the flange to the tip of the cap. However, your board would have to fit between the flange and the cap and that part measures approximately 11.5". Thanks for your inquiry!

Question:	Can they be stacked on top of each other
Answer:	The height of each tier is adjustable to meet your different storage needs. There are many positions with the same spacing on the columns. You can snap the boards in for ideal height.

Answer:	You would need to check your rack to see in the poles unscrew in the middle. I get the impression there were different versions of these racks. If they do you need a set of 4 caps, 4 threaded inserts and 4 casters or levelers. Check your pole size too, likely either 1” or 3/4” depending on the version.

Answer:	super simple assembly. take 2 peices of the black thingies. they should have a mark saying top or a dot or something. they are conical so you snap them together on the legs. start on the near bottom of a leg on a ring and slide the cap till it snaps in place. do all 4 on the same ring, 1 level at a time.so caps, snap, shelf. the 1st shelf is the trickiest but once the second shelf is in place it has better stability. if this is not helping, try youtube.
Question:	I'm very frustrated. the plastic shelf holders are not snapping and staying closed what am i doing wrong
Answer:	I've purchased several of these and just have one more thing to add from the other comments. First, from the other comments you can gather that the pieces do not snap together with each other - they snap to the vertical poles. That's an important point left out of the instructions. Second, where most are saying hold them together and slide them down the vertical pole until they snap, you can do that but they most likely will snap in the same location, giving you same size shelves. The shelves are adjustable, so if you want different heights for each shelf, find the groove on the pole that is closest to giving you the shelf size you want. Then you can, making sure the arrow of the 2 interlocking pieces point up, just lay both pieces close to the groove and then you can slide them up or down to find the closest place to that spot where they will snap. One more thing is you need to make sure you put the shelf over the 4 poles as level as you can. Even though the pieces snap onto the pole, they can be knocked off if the shelf hits them too hard on one side or the other if you try to place it on askew. Doesn't have to be perfectly level - I did it by myself - but somewhat hitting all 4 clips at the same time and coming down over them as close to the same time as you can. The lip of the shelf has to be down in order for the shelf to slide over top of the interlocking pieces on each pole - that's what holds them together. Will not work with the lip up. I am a 60ish female with no real mechanical abilities so the first one was the hardest because the instructions left out key points. Hope this helps (I have put together about 5 or 6 of them now in my garage).

Question:	Is it hard to put together or take apart
Answer:	Very easy to do both. All you need to take it apart would be to pull off the shelves one by one. I would suggest upside down after removing the top shelf. Then hit lightly with a hammer or mallet from below each shelf to loosen it from the plastic two parts that hold each side of the shelves. Once they are loose they will come apart. When putting it together, the number one thing is to pay attention to the plastic parts because they all say, this side up. You put the side down, you will never get it together. FYI when you unpack the parts a bunch of round black plastic pieces (that look like junk) will fall of, those are ONLY for protecting the posts when shipping so when putting together make sure they are not inside the posts or you will not be able to put it together. The actual parts come in a large bag full of smaller bags, each one is for putting together one shelf. The instructions mention it, but some people are commenting that they are broken pieces because they can't read. lol I'm 70 and I have put together 9, my most recent today. I'm sure you can also. They are sturdy and my older ones have been in use for a decade.

Question:	Is it possible to turn the shelves around so that the edges of the shelves have a lip
Answer:	People are saying yes, but it is designed for the shelves to have a "top" and a "bottom" so no, you cannot turn the shelves upside down. The weight of the shelve pushes down on the taper, creating a tighter "bind" with the leg. That's the design.
Question:	What is the diameter of the posts
Answer:	I don't know what diameter the other sizes are, but the 30" three tier shelf is only 3/4" diameter. I went off the previous answer when I bought three of these. Boy was I fooled when I received 3/4" poles. Smh!

Answer:	this is not the item you seek, (hand wave).
Question:	How well does it hold up under snow
Answer:	It will hold up well under snow load when new. As the sun weakens the fabric, not no much. It is advisable to clear roof of shelter when covered with snow or it could melt a little during the day and then freeze at night into a solid piece and be very difficult to remove. If that happens, the next snowfall could overload it. To prevent sun damage, cover the shelter with an additional tarp or tarps. this will prevent UV damage and weakening of the original cover. Get a tarp long enough to sit on the ground when installed. Put sand tubes on the tarp, three to a side. That will keep your tarp in place and help hold down your shelter when it's windy. Anchoring properly is the best thing you can do to prevent wind damage. Use 30-36" long anchors on every leg to be safe. Replace the tarp when it becomes weakened by the sun(several years or more with a heavy duty tarp) and the original cover will remain intact and able to be tensioned properly and used for many years.
Question:	How thick is the frame? I can kind of infer from the video but a real number would be great
Answer:	Don't know but it handled a lot of snow last winter......Minnesota!
Question:	Can the other side be open so that a car can drive through it
Answer:	No. But I did buy another zipper door from ShelterLogic so I could drive through it.BTW this garage has been outstanding. It's lasted in teh desert sun for two years now, strong winds and my idiot neighbor bouncing hundreds of basketballs of the side of it.

Question:	Can these be used to mount a desk to the wall
Answer:	I bought 2 of the 5 tier and they fit perfectly in my bathroom. I could buy 1 more!
Question:	Can I use these shelf brackets in garage for storage
Answer:	On the unit I have, the sides are one continuous piece, with a top, bottom, and middle shelf. The middle shelf CAN be removed, but not just moved to a different spot. And you'd need a torx screwdriver to do so. Hope that helps.

Question:	Can you remove a shelf? Would like to add trash can at the bottom
Answer:	I would place lower shelf all the way to the bottom and set trash can on it then place other shelves where you want. This would keep shelving unit stable. If you need to leave one shelf off keep it and the plastic brackets in case you want to add later.
Question:	Can i buy one additional shelf for the unit i just purchased? it is so sturdy and i would like one more shelf for the very top. thank you
Answer:	Yes, and you can buy a bag of sleeves here for pennies. I have about 10 sets of shelves that I’ve bought here, Walmart, Aldis. The legs are all the same diameter so I’ve been able to interchange shelves to get what I want. The only issue I’ve had is the size of the shelves. Like others have said, check your measurements. If you use the shelf liners do some comparison shopping. Wide difference in price for same thing. I also found a heavy plastic shelf liner roll I can cut to fit. It has tiny parallel ridges that require cleaning with with a nap- like terry- but glasses sitting upside down can breathe so no “bad breath”. Items can be put away still damp as the ridges allow air to move. Love these wire shelves.
Question:	can the 3shelf hold a microwave
Answer:	Only a small microwave. Unit isn't really sturdy enough for larger appliances.
Question:	Are these the industrial size poles that are 1" so I can use shelves I already own
Answer:	The poles we received with the three shelf unit were only 0.75 inches in diameter. The industrial size poles are usually a 1 inch diameter, and are not compatible with the parts we received in this unit.
