User questions & answers

Question: Hi, is the voltage display on LCD represent low or high impedance value? Let me clarify...if you detect a ghost voltage, say, 60vac, it obvious will not lite nor vibrate the meter, will the LCD display ghost voltages or just show 0 volt
Answer: These leads are not removeable.
Question: is this good for ghost voltage like a wiggy
Answer: Can't provide a specific response to your question. However, I find the leads adequate for most things I use it for. This is a great tool!
Question: Can I remove the test leads and plug in my own Fluke test leads
Answer: yes it does beep. I am not certain if you will want to purchase this; I bought mine after having this same model for roughly 10 years. it had served me well, so I thought I would repeat that with another one. The new one did not last a year and ideal would not replace it. I used it for work about once a week and had it protected in my toolbox and it just died. Replacing the batteries did nothing for it, so for now I am using a much more expensive tester for the grunt work until I find need to just get a new simpler one like this one.
Question: Are the test leads long enough to test a 220 dryer outlet receptacle
Answer: Touch leads together to confirm continuity, and also test leads on a known true voltage - then test on your circuit in question.

User questions & answers

Question: How do you to do run capacitor and resistance like waterheater element car parts ???? Please reply
Answer: Great tool, as a manager for my apts, it's a tool you need in your bag. There is another tool you need to ck voltage, Klein, ck it out.
Question: Can I ohm a wire out with this one
Answer: Are the protective probe sleeves on the probes? If not removed the exposed tip is too small to make contact by just inserting the probe into a standard outlet.
Question: Does it come with a carry bag
Answer: It depends upon the source impedance of the 60 Vca. A very high source impedance, say through a high resistance very poor connection may not permit enough current (5 ma +/-) to flow through the T+Pro for it to vibrate. Putting the T+Pro in GFCI Test mode, will cause it to draw 20-30 milliamps for 1 second. You might try this test. Consider that my Metrix MX24 DMM from AEMC has an input impedance of 500K Ohms on the Low Z setting compared to 250K ohms for the T+Pro at 125 Vca. Impedance of T+Pro is toward the low end for testers and is designed NOT to read ghost voltages. T+Pro is a great little test tool, where a high impedance input is NOT desired. Hope this helps. See specs for T+Pro for more info.
Question: Bought the klein et60 when put probes into a live power outlet to test it nothing happens? what am i doing wrong
Answer: It will drop a bit of voltage, usually enough. But not near as much as a Wiggy, Tegam, anything that can fit the Fluke's stray voltage eliminator (87, 376, others). Fluke has other meters with a LoZ mode now too.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the tester beep when continuity is present
Answer: Most common is a lead breaking. Catching the loop on a doorknob as you walk by will do that. If you take the rubber boot off the bottom you will see a phillips screw. take it out. Slide the tester apart and you will see the lead connections. Use an ohm meter or continuity tester to test the leads. Knopp sells replacement leads. Getting the slider in the right position when you put it back together can be a bit tricky, but if you shake it a bit as you put it together it usually takes just a couple of tries. I have had one of these in my belt since 1974. If you don't lose it, it will last a lifetime.

User questions & answers

Question: Can I use this to test the continuity of my water heater and RV frame
Answer: This is a voltage tester for automotive, 12 volt systems. It is basically a probe with a light bulb (or LED). You would attach the clip to a ground on the vehicle, like the chassis or frame of the car which is grounded to the ( - ) negative battery terminal.
Question: What batteries does it use
Answer: I’m not sure which picture you’re referring to. They do have a continuity tester a 3504, but all the information written on this model in the product ad on Amazon indicates it is for voltage checking only. Just looking at the pictures could be confusing, because they could be someone testing for continuity. Good luck, the continuity tester is about $1 more
Question: Pardon my ignorance, but the Clíp, serves as a ground? We’re should I connected or clip it too
Answer: No it doesn't
Question: Gb gat-3400 automotive circuit tester does not check continuity, so why does a picture of it suggesting that it does
Answer: Yes. Tool works fine. Have used it many times.

User questions & answers

Question: How does this unit indicate 208vac l to l or 277vac l to n on wye systems; or low voltages like 24 & 48 - the product info notes a 6v to 600v range
Answer: We do have 20 of the testers available. The price according to Amazon would be $599.00 + $10.49 shipping. Now the shipping is going to be more then that but we will waive that additional cost and I can also drop an additional $40 which we can give you a partial refund after the original sell and would ship to you ASAP.
Question: does it come with a caring case
Answer: Yes this tester makes an audible sound when testing for continuity. I use it for checking for bad or good fuses, and for open circuits this is a 5 star rated tester as far as I'm concerned
Question: I am looking for 20 of these testers. Do you have them available and what would the price be
Answer: not sure --restate question--are you trying to see if the element in the water heater is bad?
Question: Does this tester also have an audible sound when testing for continuity
Answer: Perhaps they changed the design. I just received mine and it uses 2 LR44 button batteries. I'd originally bought one of these at Home Depot. Do not put this on a live circuit (I crossed some model railroad tracks with the power pack on - oh well). Anyway, I was hoping for the 2 AAA battery version specified here. As the reviews have said though this is a really handy tool!

User questions & answers

Question: The volt sensor is so sensitive it goes off near an outlet. Is that normal? I thought I could stick it in the slots to find out which side was hot
Answer: Yes, you can insert the tip of this tool into the slots of an outlet then press the button and it will tell you which side is hot. You can also use it to test the wires in a circuit if you are unsure which is the hot lead. If the wires are connected to the switch, outlet etc touch the tip to the bared wire at the contact point and it will tell you if it is hot. You can also just touch the insulation covering the wires to get a reading too. Try to keep the wires you are testing separted by a few inches if possible, this will help prevent any false reading you might get by voltage seepage from the insulated hot lead. If you didn't know - the hot wire in a circuit is usually black, red or maybe some other dark color, the white is the neutral or return and the green is the ground. Start by testing the dark wire first but as a precaution be sure the check the white also - someone may have wired in incorrectly and that could be a hot lead. I've had - well had, until I left it someplace - one of these for years and it's a good useful tool. So I gotta get another one now, and I'm getting one of these.
Question: Can this be used as a circuit breaker finder
Answer: You could use them to find a circuit breaker, if you had someone to watch the tester, while you went through your panel turning off and on your breakers untill you found the one that controlled that circuit. If you didn't want to do that then you will need to buy an circuit breaker finder kit.
Question: does this tester work on low-voltage landscape lighting wires
Answer: The non contact voltage tester will.
Question: can it tell the diffrence between 220v and 110v
Answer: If you can’t tell the difference 110v and 220v .You Dont Need A Meter.

User questions & answers

Question: Are you really sure about tenth of a volt? Manual says 1V resolution, and I own one of these and can't make it show tenths, DC or AC
Answer: I don't currently have one of these. But, the spec sheet indicates .1A resolution on the current measuring (A) scale. All of the voltage scales have 1 V resolution.
Question: Does the screen light up
Answer: No it doesn't... That's my only issue
Question: Is there any way to mount a TPAK hanger on a T5-1000? I would definitely purchase this if I could hang it off the side of a rack in a data center
Answer: What a good convenient meter. Unfortunately the only way to hang it is if you improvise your own solution. Perhaps the accessory pouch available for the meter would be a good starting place.
Question: does this read dc amps
Answer: No, it does not read DC amps. AC amps only. I almost bought a T5-600 based on the misleading answers to this question. Got a 362 instead - the 362 measures DC amps (the T5 series doesn't), and the 362 has one decimal for voltage - the T5 doesn't.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this test through the wire insulation
Answer: Yes. You can tell if it is an energized cord/circuit.
Question: Why does my tester beep 6 times, flashes red then turns off
Answer: i never noticed mine beeping and flashing but it alway's shut's down unless you hold the power button down for a few second's.
Question: Hi what does a slow beep with a red light indicate it's not rapid. Thanks Tom
Answer: Klein non-contact sensors are known for being misleading, by blinking red and beeping even when there is no electrical current nearby. It does blink red and beep fast (and continuously) at 110v power and is pretty good for that. The slow blinks/beeps, even when touching wood or the edge of a kitchen counter, mean nothing. Some say it's due to very low voltage or 'phantom voltage' but this doesn't always seem to be the case.
Question: This pen tester make any sounds when it detects power
Answer: Yes it make a sound and flash red, but make sur than the tester is on green to be sure to test 120 volt because you have two options bleu for low voltage and green for 120 volts!
