Question:	If I use 4 shunts in parallel, would device show 1/4 of actual current flow ? I need to measure up to 400 A draw
Answer:	Whereas I have not personally exceeded the maximum reading capability of this particular instrument, I have done so with many, many other ammeters, digital and analog with no consequence as long as the amount and time of overload is reasonable. The actual current being utilized by the meter's internal circuitry is in the micro amp range with little chance of heat damage. I'd assume that an overload indication such as a flashing display or , "err", "hhh" or "ovr" would be displayed.
Question:	Is this device weather tight, i.e., for installation in a sailboat control panel
Answer:	The add says voltage range is AC 80-300V. A standard conmen U.S. home outlet is only 110 to 120 volts. I was think it means it can't read below 80 volts are above 300 volts and only alternating current. AC = alternating current is standard conmen U.S. home power type. ("80-199V" Up to 300 or 199 volts) I am think that is someone's typo? Hope that helps.
Question:	What would happen with an occasional 200a draw? Would it just not measure it correctly or would it be permanently broken
Answer:	First, you are aware that it has a FLAT plug, which is not common for 220V. The picture show 236 so I assume that it will have a "2" digit which is also not common. Most voltmeters are have a ONE for the most significant digit, but it shows a "2" which means that it will read 200. Also note that the accuracy is stated at 1.5% +or- 2 digits. There have been complaints that the meter is off by 3 Volts...which is well within the specs and is typical for an AC voltmeter.. At 230, it could be off as much as 5 volts and still be in spec. Also this same voltmeter is available as a single voltmeter from Amazon, if you only need one, but you have to hunt for it.

Answer:	Inside measurements for the cut out are 72mm wide, 39mm tall and 25mm deep. The outer face plate is 7mm wider and 3mm taller, not much difference. I made a matting skirt out of thin black plastic since it's very difficult to cut a perfectly sized rectangle in the wall.

Answer:	im sitting looking right at one 6months installed ... it regularly measures 155 amps of 12volt charge and up to 199amps discharge .... those are my system limits witb a 5000w inverter several golf cart batteries and two 100amp chargers
Question:	How long i as the cable for sensor and what is max wire size that will fit in sensor
Answer:	The sensor cable is about 8 inches long but i cut my cable and extended it to about 10 ft. I testes it up to 15ft and it worked fine. You could possibly go longer. Just use a good quality multi wire cable, or make your own. About 18AWG probably OK. I recall the hole as 20mm, roughly 3/4 inch diameter. No problem for RV battery cable. Remember you can run more than one wire through the hole, That way you can still use battery terminal as the tie point for the various wires that may already be connected there. The sensor will read the Sum of currents, that is for example, if you have charging from a solar system at say 5A, and a discharge load to lighting at say 3A, your meter will show 2A charging. Answer:	Yes Considering the shunts as resistors, they obey the 1/R law. If each shunt of 1 ohm then 1/R= 1/1+1/1+1/1+1/1 1/R=4 R=1/4 then I =V across shunts/(1/4) This should hold true for the real world. Remember Voltage = (I)(R)

Answer:	I'm a retired auto electrician, the device probably uses the vehicle's 12 volts to power it, speaking from experience most 12 volt devices like your car radio will function down to about 8 volts, that being said it might still function at 6 volts, as for the higher voltages I'm pretty sure it will reach at least 24 volts because some 18 wheelers run at 24 volts, I hope this was helpful to you, I have one in my Ford Ranger and it's worked flawlessly for over a year now, only one small problem is it tends to work it's way out of the socket from time to time and I need to apply pressure to insure it is all the way into the socket!

Answer:	I connected the Drok to a 14 ah MC battery that was failing, it has been attached to the battery for three days, with 0 voltage drop., tied in a single LED, over night the battery dropped to 12.3,..disconnected the LED and it climbed back to 12.5 and stayed there for two more days.... I will put a amp meter in line to see what it draws when I get a chance, but it is very near 0......

Answer:	Absolutely. I installed this this meter on my motor home house batteries to monitor the batteries and the charging voltage while driving and while plugged into shore power. As long as you are within the stated voltage range you will be fine.
Question:	does it come with a temperature sensor
Answer:	There is no easy way that I can conceive of (I have an AA degree in electronics, for what that is worth). But, if you put one or more layers of tissue paper (or maybe a panel from a white plastic bag) over it, that will dim the display quite a bit while it will still be perfectly readable (I've just tried the tissue paper on your behalf!). BTW, I put an on/off switch in line with the power wire anyway when I installed it in my RV, both to completely remove annoying light and also save a teeny bit of electricity.

Answer:	It comes with a multi conductor ribbon cable for about 12-18 inches. You may be able to extend that through some DIY soldering and creative wiring. I don’t know how that will affect the readings. You may be able to find a cable on Lin’s with the correct plugs and ribbon to reach your desired layout. Good luck.
Question:	is this weatherproof
Answer:	I haven't tested anything besides the low-voltage protection, but it seems like all the protections can be run simultaneously. You can pick and choose which one(s) to have "armed" as well as set each trigger parameter. The caveat is that it is a only a relay cut, without any automated reconnect. So if any of the protections are triggered, it cuts the external relay, then to reconnect you have to press OK on the "OUT" parameter to re-activate the relay.

If the relay (this product doesn't contain a relay) is connected, press the button ↑ ↓ to move the yellow cursor to OUT after powering on, and press OK to control the output. If the OUT light turns green, the output will be turned on; if the OUT light is gray, the output will be turned off. And the power state of the machine will be the state before the last shutdown. If the relay is not used, the output is always on and the OUT light won't work.

Pass the wire that transports current through the round hole of the hall sensor, then the current will be detected. The current can be detected in both positive and negative directions, which is safe and convenient.

1. Do remember to correctly wire the hall sensor, power supply and load according to the instruction.

Answer:	This meter does not have any kind of data output. There are only four "input" terminals. Two are for 120 volts AC and two are for a toroidal current transformer that is supplied with the unit. One wire of the 120 volt AC load (preferably the hot lead) goes through the center of the toroid current transformer. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Those are the correct cables. After, you connect it all, it has to be calibrated.

Answer:	I have a dozen of these in various electrical loads in my plant, they run 24x7 and are over 1 year old, no problems.

Answer:	You say you want to read the wattage on a 240 vac circuit. If you literally mean one circuit, like an air conditioner or electric range, then this is easily done. Connect the meter voltage input to the 240 volt supply and run one of the wires feeding your 240 vac load through the current transformer (CT). If the appliance also contains 120 vac loads, like a fan for instance, then you will see different readings depending on which of the 240 vac lines you pass through the CT, i.e., on one side you will only see the 240 vac load (such as a compressor) and on the other you'll see both the 120 vac and 240 vac load (compressor and fan).If you're talking about measuring the total current drawn by all household circuits (USA Service with 120 vac and 240 vac) then no, this will not give a true reading. Let's call the 120 vac circuits phase A (Black) and phase B (Red). If you mount the CT on the BLACK side, you'll read all the currents being drawn by the 120 vac loads on phase A PLUS the current being drawn by the 240 vac loads. If you mount the CT on the RED side, you'll read all the currents being drawn by the 120 vac loads on phase B PLUS the current being drawn by the 240 vac loads. If your desire is to measure only current drawn by the 240 vac loads, then this won't work because you'll also see current being drawn by the 120 vac loads. A possible work around would be to pass all of your 240 vac load lines (either all phase A or all phase B) through the CT. For example, suppose you want the total load for an electric oven, an air conditioner and a well pump. Find the wire leaving the breaker for phase A (or B, but don't mix) for each of those and pass them through the current transformer. This should give you an approximation of what those loads draw, but there may be some errors due to the power factors of the appliances.

Question:	If I interrupt the electrical current, the counter is reset to zero
Answer:	Not sure what you mean by 2 phase. It reads a single voltage (up to 300v) and a single current. If your "2" phase is 120/240 and the current is balanced on the hot legs with zero neutral, then connecting it at 240v and the hot leg current will work.
Question:	Can this unit be calibrated
Answer:	I know it will on 60Hz accurately, but I don't know about recording
Question:	Will this only work for single-phase systems (1-phase + neutral)? because i have a 2-phase (+neutral) installation
Answer:	If you don't mind doing the math you can use 1 meter and measure 1 side of the 240v (120v) . Example: If it draws 35 amps on the leg (phase) your reading it will draw 35 amps on the other. Same formula, if it shows 4.2 KW on the leg (phase) your reading then it will draw 4.2KW on the other. This would make the total KW of the heater 8.4 KW or 8400 watts. This meter will show you volts, amps and KW
Question:	In us we only have 60 hz ac. will it work accurately on 60hz ac? does it record kwh for 999.99 hours and reset to 0 kwh and continue to record
Answer:	There is a simple picture on the box. Two wires for volts, for 120 on to power, one to neuteral. For 240 both to power. The inductor has to have a power wire run through the center. I had to extend the leads on the inductor on all 5 i have used. I hope this helps.
