3 best household battery tester
A household battery tester is a device designed for testing the voltage and overall condition of batteries commonly used in household electronics and gadgets. These testers fall into the category of "Battery Testers" and can be found in the "Tools Home Improvement" section. Here's what you should know about household battery testers:
Functionality: Household battery testers are designed to check the voltage and capacity of various types of batteries, including AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, and button cell batteries. They help determine whether a battery is still usable or needs replacement.
Types: There are different types of battery testers available:
- Analog Testers: These have a needle or analog display that moves to indicate the battery's charge level.
- Digital Testers: These display the battery's voltage and may offer additional features like LCD screens and more precise readings.
Ease of Use: Battery testers are typically user-friendly and require minimal technical knowledge. Users simply place the battery in the tester and follow the instructions to obtain a reading.
Battery Health: Battery testers can provide information about the health of a battery. They can tell you whether a battery is still good, nearing the end of its lifespan, or completely depleted.
Cost Savings: By accurately assessing the condition of batteries, these testers can help you avoid prematurely disposing of batteries that still have some charge left. This can save you money and reduce waste.
Compatibility: Most household battery testers are versatile and compatible with a wide range of battery types, making them suitable for testing the batteries used in various household devices, including remote controls, toys, flashlights, and more.
Maintenance: Regularly testing your batteries with a battery tester can help you identify and replace weak or dead batteries, ensuring that your devices operate efficiently.
Portability: Battery testers are often compact and portable, making them convenient for use at home or on the go.
Safety: Using a battery tester can also help prevent leakage and damage to electronic devices caused by the use of expired or weakened batteries.
Having a household battery tester can be a handy tool for managing and prolonging the life of your batteries, ultimately saving you money and reducing environmental impact by reducing the number of batteries that end up in landfills.

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this test a cr123a and/or cr2 batteries? thank you |
Answer: | A moderate load is important to check AAA, AA, C, D and 9v or any other battery for that matter. The reason is the open circuit voltage check does not indicate if the battery has the Current capability to sustain the nominal 1.5 or 9.0v under a light to moderate load for a brief 1-3 seconds. Even with a loaded test, it does not indicate the remaining Amp Hours. But a loaded test is a quick and easy light weight check and is a step better than not loaded. |
Question: | which is the most accurate, the d fantatix analog or digital battery checker |
Answer: | What the package says is that it tests 1.5 miniature cells and shows a photo of a button battery in the tester on the back side of the package. However, the photo shows a small button battery. It may work with a larger button - the testing area seems to be about 3/4" across, so as long as the button can be centered in that space, it might work. |
Question: | I keep seeing people ask about "load" checking. Is that important? I just want to know if my batteries are still good |
Answer: | warm is ok. hot is not. |
Question: | Does it test button batteries, like CR |
Answer: | You can user either to control the fan speed. The physical switch has + / - buttons .It is more convenience to control the fan using APP and voice . |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can this be used on hearing aid batteries |
Answer: | Hmmm-it will do button batteries, but hearing aid are so small and i don't know their (dc) voltage is 1.5v as buttons. If they work-you can hear- use...if not dump and put new ones in....not worth the time (I think), |
Question: | Does it test for internal resistance or just volt output |
Answer: | Just tests battery output in terms of good, low or replace. Does not test resistance. Simple device that provides basic feedback. Good deal for $4.99! |
Question: | will this work for smaller watch batteries like a |
Answer: | Yes. It works for all common button-cell batteries, including 394. |
Question: | Will this work for lithium AAA batteries |
Answer: | Non rechargeable lithium AAA and AA cells have a voltage of about 1.8 V when new as opposed to 1.5 V for an alkaline cell. It should not concern you that the tester will read higher for new lithium cells. The replace voltage indication is based on the minimum voltage requirement of most of the devices the batteries are used in. Therefore, the tester will give a valid indication of when to replace the cells, regardless of the cell chemistry. Lithium cells have a more abrupt voltage drip at end of life, so these testers' indications can be trusted. |
