Answer:	It does not seem that the previous answer is entirely correct. I may have misread it though. If you have one "line" going to both the light and the fan then you would have to connect the both the fan and the light to either the fan switch or light switch. This would mean that the light and fan will do the same thing; either both on or both off. If you connect the fan and light to the light switch then the motion sensor would turn the fan and light on and off. If you connect the fan and light to the fan switch then humidity sensor would turn the fan and light on and off. That said the fan might be too large of a load (current draw) for the light switch if connected that way. I am not sure on that. My fan has a small night light on it so for both to turn on based on the humidity is no big deal but I would not want my main bathroom light to turn on based on humidity.
Question:	so is there a way to activate the switch to leave it on until I decide to turn it off
Answer:	Yes, the TDHOS5 may be turned manually OFF and stay OFF until manually turned ON again by the fan button.
Question:	If the large button acts as an on/off switch (bypassing the timer functions), wouldn't this defeat the purpose of a timer switch for anyone unaware
Answer:	The seller looks like didn't provide correct answer. You can only manually turn it on but not off. It turns off automatically according to the manual. If your switch does not face to the shower area, you manually turn the light on then will end up shower in the dark since it can't detect you.

Question:	Are there actually two led modes for this product? on-briefly-then-off + always-on? reviews seem to indicate there aren't 2 modes
Answer:	The dark little rectangles that you see (seven of them) on the switch are blue leds that are on continuously. The main switch on the bottom of the unit and the delay time switch that you choose (I chose five minutes.) are very bright. The other five lights are dim. There is no way to turn them off. Your bedroom will be well lit up if this switch is installed in the room. Our solution was to hang a hook above the switch and place a hanging pot holder on it to cover the leds. I wish the manufacturer would have given the purchaser a method to disable the leds.
Question:	Do the blue leds lights stay on after it's off? like the het06a 1-5-10-15-20-30 timer? i have both and this one is dark when it's off
Answer:	The group of white wires is the neutral going back to the breaker box (if wired normally). The 2 blacks are probably the circuit to the fan - one hot all the time the other (both) hot when the switch is on. The one that is hot all the time will go to the black wire on the switch. The red wire from the switch will go to the other black wire, the one that is only hot while your original switch is on. The white wire from the new switch will connect to the group of white(neutral) wires. Green is ground. Always check with a local electrician to be sure.
Question:	Under option 2 the selected time led stays on, but once the time expires all leds are off including the main button led. is there a way to keep it on
Answer:	The spec sheet reads it has HOLD but mine would not work out of box. The one I ended up with you turn the fan on then hold the switch and it stays on. Push switch again and it shuts off.

Answer:	I expect so. The unit is just a cluster of timer-controlled switches. If your fan can be controlled with a conventional electro-mechanical switch, I expect these will work also.
Question:	Is there a way to shut the vent to save on heating costs when not in use
Answer:	ignore the seller he is clueless and probably can't speak english well enough to explain. The LED color indicates if you are in automatic or manual mode. - When white it is in auto mode and reacts based on current programmed humidity threshold (1 , 2 or 3, with 1 being the most sensitive). you don't touch the push button it will come on and go off after the humidity drops. - When red, it indicates that you are in manual mode. Basically you are controlling fan on/off based on button push/toggle. What is confusing (and kind of stupid) is that if you push the button you essentially are throwing the thing into the manual mode (red). And it will only react to button pushes to turn on /off. To get it back into automatic mode after you have thrown into manual mode, you push again and it runs for 20 minutes and then it will go back into auto mode. (as indicated by white LED). What makes it difficult to understand is that if you have the programming too sensitive it will just always run and never shut off. Once you get it set right and in auto mode it is best to never touch the button.

Question:	how difficult is the install without a preexisting fan
Answer:	There are two metal mounting brackets on the fan that mount to the structure with screws. A 3" flexible duct runs from the fan to a wall or roof cap. Two adjustable 3" metal screw clamps are required to hold the 3" flex duct to the fan & cap. An electrical circuit is required to power the fan & it requires an on-off switch. This requires a moderate amount of skill.

Answer:	I recently found that both of the two existing V2262-50 foam dampers in our house have completely disintegrated as well. When searching for replacements, I found that the foam damper assemblies are available at Walmart.com for just $5.99 (w/free shipping) from a vendor called Mobile Home Solutions. I'll likely be purchasing replacements there, as they are significantly cheaper than the entire fan assembly itself.

Answer:	I too had this question, as I recently found that the two existing V2262-50 foam dampers in our house had both completely disintegrated. During my search for a replacement, I learned that the sound rating for exhaust fans is measured in "sones", a scale similar to decibels. The V2262-50 is rated for 2.33 sones, per the product listing of a non-Amazon vendor. Using the Sones-to-Decibels conversion chart linked below, this translates to approximately 40 decibels, the equivalent of somewhere between a whisper and soft music: https://www.industrialfansdirect.com/pages/dba-sones-decibel-levels Bear in mind that the sound of a given fan will also be affected by the diameter of the exhaust ducting, the number of elbows in the run, and overall run length prior to the termination point. These three factors all contribute to resistance which the fan has to overcome to exhaust the air in the given room. Higher resistance = greater noise levels. Both of the bathroom exhaust duct runs in my house are comprised of 7" diameter rigid metal over straight vertical runs totaling less than 3' in length each. Based on my own experience with my two V2262-50's with this ducting configuration, the above estimation between a whisper and soft music checks out. By way of comparison, Broan makes Energy Star-certified fans such as the Broan XB50 (50 CFM) which are rated as low as .3 sones. But you'll pay for the quiet operation - the XB50 checks in at roughly 3x the price of the Ventline V2262-50 here on Amazon. Would recommend a professional, if you're not familiar with wiring size and circuit capacity... You'll need to know if it's a15 or 20 Amp Breaker, and how many other items are powered on that circuit, for safety's sake. The fan will draw a little over 1/2 amp more than just having the lights on.
