Question:	Can this be the primary router and also have the google mesh points attached to the network for additional coverage
Answer:	Yes. Definitely. I did precisely what you are asking. I had a three piece Google WiFi system, but was not happy with how close I would have had to keep each one together for decent performance. Where I had them, I was getting about half the data transfer rate I was expecting So, I replaced the one that was connected to my modem with the more powerful Nest router. The difference was amazing. I got an increase of about 50% in the throughput measured at each of the three Google WiFi nodes with two of them in the same location as before. Then, I put the one that was formerly attached to my cable modem in a new location to cover even more of the house. If you want to get really crazy, build your entire mesh with nothing but Nest routers. You give up the microphones and speakers of the less expensive Nest points (which I didn't want anyway), but gain more coverage and better performance. When I did that, my performance nearly doubled over what it was with the Google Wifi system I started with.

Answer:	It depends on the area you need to cover. I have three in my home and this works great. I just added internet to my cottage an hour away. I put one unit there. It is more than adequate. Also it was really easy to add another network. I was done before the installer was out the driveway.

Answer:	I run gigabit... at the router I normally get 850-970 MPs... device side I get 150-180mps... I have tested 3 devices simultaneously and got those speeds

Answer:	Yes the EX8000 used as a wifi extender you have the option of having a guest network. You can use same SSID name as your main router or use a different SSID altogether. I did have issues with more than one extender on the same network using same SSID name as main router so I had to change one of the extenders to a different SSID.

Answer:	there are 4 ports. I use multiple ones as this is the only system I can find that does not change the network name but once a year I also have one break and have to replace it or hard reset it myself.

Answer:	If you have an Internet installation (cable or Dish) in one apartment that is connected to a wi-fi router, you would be able to set up and pair the extender in the apartment with the wi-fi router, then plug the extender in an outlet in the other apartment. The extender network is protected with a password so only those who know the PW coils access your network connection.
Question:	I have not been able to get to the website to complete the set up process. When I called for the help, they wanted to remotely log into my laptop
Answer:	I have been using it for online gameplay and it has worked extremely well. I live in a basement apartment and the wifi wasn't great to play online and it was too far to set up a Ethernet cable. I have been using this both for wifi on other devices and put it close to my Xbox so I could hardwire it and noticed SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS. Ping dropped from over 300 to 45

Answer:	Dan Blake has the correct answer if you want to use your existing SSID. You cannot set it up that way (same SSID) using the WPS method. You'll have to use a second computer or device (I used my phone). Additionally, you'll need to also use the same password(s) for your existing SSID(s) and restart Wi-Fi (let it reconnect once) on each device to get a seamless network. If you want new networks, you can name then anything you want and set whatever passwords you want.
Question:	Is this compatible with xfinity comcast router? also, how many units will i need to cover from our office to outside courtyard room
Answer:	When it works, it works great. When it doesn't work, it's a worthless brick and customer service is absolutely reprehensible. The customer service line (since it isn't listed on the website is 888-638-4327) and the phone tree is rage-inducing, and the hold times are beyond ridiculous. I've been trying to get a human for about 15 minutes now, and I decided to fill the time by leaving warnings for others about their garbage-tier customer service.

Answer:	Yes. It has several usable ethernet ports and will act as a switch. However, there are some third party usb wifi adapters on amazon that can be used with macs (including mac pro) to get wifi if you prefer that.

Answer:	Memory on the Airport device is irrelevant. It merely transmit the internet traffic from your provider's modem to your devices. How much memory your computer or device is the rea thing to worry about.
Question:	I have tried and tried to set up this product with no success. My airport utility simply does not find it. What to do
Answer:	reset your router with the pinhole in the back. press a paperclip in it until it clicks, then plug in the router. wait for the blinking amber light (10 seconds) then remove the paper clip. download app utility to your laptop/desktop. Plug one cable into the router and one cable into the network port. The app for iPhone usually picks this up but if it doesn't or if you don't have an iPhone try the cable approach I just explained. once its plugged in the apple utilility app should find it

Question:	Is this a WiFi router? Can I connect this to a Time Warner Cable compatible modem to enable wifi in my house
Answer:	It is a wifi router. I bought it while I was in Afghanistan because I wanted a router that didn't require a disk for installation and I could use my iPad to set it up. It worked but I found that when I returned and tried to use it at home it didn't work well for a household of devices. You should have no problem using it with Time Warner because that's what I have here. It just wouldn't allow all of our devices on at the same time. I pulled out my old linksys router and have had no problem with all of our iPhones, iPads and laptops connecting at the same. time.

Question:	Does it work without wires? Can it wirelessly connect to my main router in the living room
Answer:	Not unless your main router is a Google OnHub (they support the mesh network capabilities needed). From Kate (Manufacturer):Google Wifi is a "mesh" Wi-Fi system, they are not extenders for your existing router. The first Wifi point plugs into your modem with an Ethernet cord, and plugs in to power. Others plug in to regular power outlets in your home. They connect wirelessly to one another to create a single Wi-Fi network within your home. If you have Ethernet ports throughout your house, you can also hardwire each point. If you hardwire the units, you will still get a single Wi-Fi network throughout your house and the points will use Ethernet for connectivity between each other.
Question:	How would I handle my wired devices? If this replaces traditional wireless routers I lose my 4 wired ports
Answer:	Each Wifi point has two Gigabit Ethernet ports. There 1 WAN and 1 LAN on the primary Wifi point (which must connect to your modem) and 2 LAN ports on each additional Wifi point.

Answer:	Yes, but what I like most about that, while I have a main network for my self with a very complicated password because might have client information on network, the kids or friends might be visiting in town and always had a guest network for them, but with the google wifi, I can allow them partial access to my network, being printers, apple tvs, rokus , or sound systems. I have had this only one day, I am in a ranch style home on 1 acre, with 2 in each front corner of house and one in middle of the rear of the house and get reception on entire 1 acre though not the greatest connection on the edges but still fast and stable. also good connection in detached garage/pool house, might add one more for the detached garage/poolhouse to go from good connection to great connection

The setup is: ------------ In words: 1- Connect the Main Google Wifi WAN port directly to the modem, then connect the LAN port to a switch. 2- Connect each ethernet cable from outlets in the house to the switch. 3- BEFORE connecting the other Google Wifi(s) to the Ethernet, you MUST pair/activate/create the mesh with the Main Google Wifi. You MUST do this for each Google Wifi that will be connected to the network. 4- After pairing/activation/mesh creation, then you can take them to the location where you want to connect them to an ethernet port.
