Answer:	Mine caught on fire with a little 1500 watt space heater, and to compare, my hair dryer is 1875 watts (not plugged into a smart plug of course), so it doesn't take much for these to catch on fire. Answer:	Two parts to this answer... First, yes it retains it's settings if the power is off or it's unplugged. Second, I powered on my lamp then unplugged the unit from the wall. Answer:	Not for start/stop, but looks like you can set an alert in the app for when power consumption either exceeds or less-than-or-equal-to a value, over a period of time. e.g. exceeds 0.001 kW for 1 sec would basically mean it started. Less than or equal to almost equates to stop. (depending on your device) Not sure how often you would get the alerts.

Answer:	This is EASILY set up using a hub, or better software like Home Assistant (free). Native to the plug, no, it will not announce via Alexa, but there are workarounds for everything, and this is pretty simple to set up using Automations within HA. In my house, this is exactly what I'd use these for! :-)

Answer:	This version is meant for heavier loads. The round version is meant to handle a load of 800 watts, where this version is 1500 watts. The heavier loads are common in things with a heating element. Like space heaters, hair dryers, and cooking appliances. The round ones are fine for lighting and most electronics. This version also has a built in nightlight feature that can be controlled independently from the plug.

Answer:	No.. you do not. After setting them up the first time you can unplug them and move them anywhere. I never had to reprogram any of them even with a power failure. Very stable and reliable.

Answer:	Yes, internet is only required for remote control. There is a manual button on the unit as well.

Answer:	Yes. I use it for that same purpose. According to Current, commands are transmitted to and stored in the unit. This of course is necessary for your desired use as once the network power is turned off you cannot access the plug from a remote location. But since commands are stored in the unit is can restart itself. Understand that you will have to issue two separate command routines to the unit. One to turn it off and a second to tur it one. Those to commands would be set to a specific clock time and because of that must be at least one minute apart. Just to be certain I usually set ours for a two minute restart. Your mileage may vary.
Question:	Does the energy monitoring monitor each port individually or the whole power strip
Answer:	Through the Currant App, you will be able to see how much energy the appliance uses on an hourly basis, as well as the total length of time it is on during a given day. Answer:	Not only do the outlets not come back on after a power outage, but they also turn off if you lose connection to the Internet (not just Wifi.) My wifi was up and stable but the Internet was down for an extended time and the outlets turned off after a little while and did not turn back on. I have another wifi outlet that uses the SmartLife app and when it loses connection to the Internet (not Wifi) it turns off and on every 30 seconds, very annoying. At least the KMC one stays off.
