Answer:	Pretty silly that Ring designed this to replace wired doorbells but it doesn't sound the current chime that people already have. I would venture to guess most people enjoy the sound of their current chime vs an electronic sound. The Nest doorbell has had this feature since launch. Bad design choice and feels like this was done to upsell the Ring Chime at the expense of what's beneficial to the consumer. The Video Doorbell 3 uses the existing chime, but it's bulkier and unattractive - would have been nice to use this smaller version.

Question:	Okay, if I charge a second battery, do I have to keep it on the charger or can I leave it in the box unplugged after charging till needed
Answer:	I read the Ring Team's January 2020 answer that the battery can sit in the box for a few months unplugged after charging it. I did exactly that, and when I took the battery out of the box, it had discharged. It took more than 24 hours to recharge it. This has happened with both of the batteries (the one that came with Ring 3 Plus, and the one that I bought as a reserve). I bought the second (reserve) battery to put into the Ring to minimize "downtime" on the Ring device on my door. The Ring Team reply seems erroneous.

Answer:	I have been running mine for 24 days now on a single charge. Initially I had it set to allow "live view" and it was really dropping the charge fast. In 3 days it went from 100% to about 80%. Now, after turning that feature off, it has gone from 80% down to 27% in 21 days. I think one reason for the rapid drain may be that our outside cat has figured out that if she sits on the garbage can, we will eventually open the door and let her in. I want to wait before recharging to see how long it will go before it starts begging for attention. Regardless of how long it lasts before requiring a recharge, I am going to purchase a backup battery so I can switch them out instead of having to worry about down time. In my opinion, Ring should package it both as it is currently sold and optionally with a second battery for those who do not have/want wiring. Yes I understand that there would be a price difference in the packaging but that is to be expected.

Answer:	You would have to discuss this with the company that makes them. However, the dependency would be the power drawn from each thermostat - if they are the new low energy types it may work. The only problem would be the wiring.

Question:	Can the quick release battery be taken out by someone who wants to rob the house
Answer:	I have it, and it's fast for detection so I have no worries for the average person (90%) who is going to rob you they WILL be seen and recorded...but a "smart" robber will have a 25 dollar wifi jammer to disrupt your network and your neighbors to get past it..but then you pair it with the ring alarm and as long as the cell signal is not jammed an alert should go off. I had a relo link camera, budget and with an SD card but it ate batteries and sometimes not record every event. This is a great device if you want easy and convince...but the best devices are expensive and wired only with a battery backup.

Answer:	I found out that yes, it most definitely is weather and waterproof, but in not so smart of away. I had my ring video doorbell 2 in its place by the door when hurricane Irma came through last year, and forgot that the doorbell was there until about 4 hours into the worst of the northeastern bands with the steady high winds and hang reason blowing sideways... which were blowing to the east - right at the front of our house. So at the point where I realized the doorbell was still outside, our power and internet were out but the battery was still powering the doorbell and I was worried about the internal electronics, but I took it inside, too out the battery, and put it on the counter and forgot about it for a few days until things started to settle down, and then the power finally came back on. so at that point, it was the Moment of Truth when I went and put the doorbell back in its place and when it reestablished its connection with the internet, every aspect of the doorbell worked just fine. It's been a year now since Hurricane Irma passed through Florida, and all the functions of the doorbell are still working just fine: the battery longevity, the speakers, the microphone, the infrared lights, and the camera lens are all fine. One other important thing to mention: our front door faces west and is right near the corner of the wall to the garage, which faces south. So, it goes without saying that it can handle the worst of Florida's relentless sun and humidity through the summer like a champ!!

Question:	Is there a way to secure or lock the adapter to the outlet ? I want to use this for my rental TH and don't want guest to unplug it
Answer:	I don't have it in front of me at this very minute but I'd go with 15-20 feet. I still have some of it wrapped with a tie so that it's not too long and about 8 feet let out . you could always extend it with a 2 conductor and some small gauged wire nuts or pass through terminations. you don't want too run it too long though because there may be a voltage drop on really long runs.

Answer:	Yes, so long as the distance isn’t too far (you can calculate the voltage drop if needed). I use this transformer on a Ring Doorbell 2, and I’d estimate the distance between my transformer and doorbell is about 75’.
Question:	Does this come with two or three wedges? And if it comes with three wedges, can you stack all three wedges at once? I'm seeing conflicting info
Answer:	I just put a lock box over the outlets. The only way a person could unplug it would be to literally cut the cable that goes in and outside of the box. They sell the boxes on Amazon (very cheap) and you can even get metal ones if desired and most are weatherproof if needed. Not sure if this helps, but again, the boxes come with a corner 'hole' that is specifically for a lock. Again, hope this helps you! I'm just a customer too...
Question:	My bell faces sideways. Each total is 30degrees, can I put 3 of them to get it to 90 to have it face straight outwards
Answer:	Works fine on mine, the nest doorbell works all the time.

Question:	Do I still connect the doorbell wires and adapter together to make old doorbell still ring
Answer:	It’s working but the power is not enough. I use it for ring doorbell pro, and it always shows up message of weak power.

Answer:	It has a motion sensor built in and it vibrates when a person comes within a few feet.
Question:	Will this work with the original video doorbell? looking to install in a vacation home and im worried about causing a fire
Answer:	I would say no............there would be a lot of weight on the adhesive backing, plus the corner kit must be screwed to the base mount.
Question:	should a resistor be installed on power line
Answer:	It comes with 3 wedges, but it doesn't come with any screws that are long enough to Mount using all 3, so you'll need to go to the hardware store regardless. 2 returns later and I STILL haven't received the proper screws. At this point, I've given up, and recommend nobody trust this company for anything except the cameras, which aren't bad
