Question:	My thermostat is only used for heating the house and only has 2 wires, a red and white. Can i still use this ecobee
Answer:	If you have a really old 2-wire system, one that does NOT have modern solid state controls, then Ecobee won't work right off the shelf, even with their 2-3 wire power conversion module. These heating plants predate the 1980s and use "dry contact" thermostats. You can make it work if you install a 24v isolation relay. Ecobee outlines the procedure on their web site, but it takes some basic electrical wiring knowledge. I'm not sure if you can use the 2-wire conversion module with an isolation relay - it should be possible somehow or other. If you have a third wire running to the thermostat (it's often there) then you should use it to run 24V to the Ecobee, and ignore the conversion module.
Question:	Is there a provision to bypass the 'auto off' motion sensor so that my dogs don't suffer from the heat when I'm out
Answer:	Yes- you can disable the Smart Home/Away feature under the "Sensors" section of the interface, so that the thermostat will follow only the schedule/preset temperatures. In my case, I disabled it because I wanted the opposite functionality (I didn't want the system turning on if I stopped at home for a hour over lunch). Note that the "Follow Me" feature is a separate setting (found in the Sensors section as well) that allows the system to track where you are in the house and attempt to heat/cool that part of the house closer to your desired setpoint.
Question:	Does the main thermostat have a sensor for the first floor? Or is the white sensor needed for that floor? Is the black hub a sensor
Answer:	Main thermostat and white (remote) includes a temperature sensor and a motion sensor. First, you don't have to use the remote sensor. Second, if you use the remote sensor, the main sensor will combine the input of both (main and remote) temperature sensors and based on the amount of time spent in each area using the motion sensor. If motion is detected more near the main and less near the remote (as a %), then the main temperature will weigh heavier than the remote. As well, you do not need to use remotes and can be assigned to work during selected schedules only. It's quite amazing, but I haven't used them on my system yet. I figured I would learn the rest of the system before I introduced them.
Question:	is this a different model than the ecobee3 that is slightly less expensive? Also if wifi is out can you control it fully manually
Answer:	Yes, this is a different model then the ecobee3 lite. The ecobee will still be able to function as a thermostat and talk to the sensors, if your wifi goes out. You can still manually control your heating and cooling at your ecobee without wifi.

Answer:	I’m not sure if it will fit the 2020 version or not. Our Ring is hard wired but after putting the wedge into place, I started receiving notifications my battery was low & ended recharging. Huh? It’s hard wired - what battery? Nonetheless, somehow the wedge wasn’t allowing the full connection to be made electric-wise and my Ring took it upon itself to run on the battery back-up (yes, it has this). We removed & reinstalled the wedge at least 3 times but still had the same issue. Once removed, our Ring has been just fine. The wedge DID eliminate the partial view of our brick facing but I can tolerate that now that I don’t have to worry about removing & recharging I’m doorbell.

Question:	Will this work with the Ring Pro
Answer:	I managed to do this with significant effort!! The 20 degree angle bracket has 4 holes, one on each corner, that the 40 degree bracket does not. These 4 holes allow the 20dg to be screwed onto the 30dg. So I placed the 20dg back-to-back to the 40dg and rotated 180 degrees. Marked the holes with a sharpee that were visible under bright lights and drilled the 4 holes onto the 40dg bracket. The hard part came when I went to tighten the screws bc the 40dg bracket has a significant angle that forces you to use an angled screwdriver to tighten it link below... I mounted the 30dg to the coverplate, then the 40dg to the 30dg on my countertop making it possible to work with then tiny screws. Then mounted the coverplate with the brackets attached, passing through the wires in this process and then attached the ring doorbell pro. Question:	How does it fasten to the front of the house? It is expensive, so can someone easily rip it off
Answer:	Hi Neighbor, Ring doorbells are screwed into a mounting bracket and anchored to the wall so it can’t be easily removed. If it does get stolen, the doorbell will capture a video of the incident, which you can use to file a police report and we will replace it for you free of charge. Question:	Can the quick release battery be taken out by someone who wants to rob the house
Answer:	I have it, and it's fast for detection so I have no worries for the average person (90%) who is going to rob you they WILL be seen and recorded...but a "smart" robber will have a 25 dollar wifi jammer to disrupt your network and your neighbors to get past it..but then you pair it with the ring alarm and as long as the cell signal is not jammed an alert should go off. I had a relo link camera, budget and with an SD card but it ate batteries and sometimes not record every event. This is a great device if you want easy and convince...but the best devices are expensive and wired only with a battery backup.
Question:	is It weather or waterproof
Answer:	I found out that yes, it most definitely is weather and waterproof, but in not so smart of away. I had my ring video doorbell 2 in its place by the door when hurricane Irma came through last year, and forgot that the doorbell was there until about 4 hours into the worst of the northeastern bands with the steady high winds and hang reason blowing sideways... which were blowing to the east - right at the front of our house. So at the point where I realized the doorbell was still outside, our power and internet were out but the battery was still powering the doorbell and I was worried about the internal electronics, but I took it inside, too out the battery, and put it on the counter and forgot about it for a few days until things started to settle down, and then the power finally came back on. so at that point, it was the Moment of Truth when I went and put the doorbell back in its place and when it reestablished its connection with the internet, every aspect of the doorbell worked just fine. It's been a year now since Hurricane Irma passed through Florida, and all the functions of the doorbell are still working just fine: the battery longevity, the speakers, the microphone, the infrared lights, and the camera lens are all fine. One other important thing to mention: our front door faces west and is right near the corner of the wall to the garage, which faces south. So, it goes without saying that it can handle the worst of Florida's relentless sun and humidity through the summer like a champ!!
Question:	I'm surprised that no-one has asked the question I'm about to ask.... Do you have to "Subscribe" to their service in order for it to continue working
Answer:	I'm surprised no one has asked about the apparent need for a home WiFi subscription being required along with the $100/year subscription needed for the doorbell itself. And what if you have a front AND backdoor?? Do you pay for WiFi and EACH doorbell every month? And how secure is the mounting? What's to prevent people from just walking up and stealing the $200 doorbell itself, along with any packages they may find on the stoop?
