Question:	I have this installed but the (red) LEDs are off/dim. Does this need to be replaced? It is approximately 12 years old
Answer:	The service entrance connects to two bus bars in the main panel that provide the hot leg for for each of the breakers. Each breaker ‘pole’ only switches one leg. You can attach a Type 2 anywhere on this bus and it’s virtually directly downstream from the panel’s main breaker because the buses are not series (sequential) circuit components, buses always are parallel connections. A good connection anywhere on either hot bus is virtually the same given the short distances across the bus and the speed that electricity travels, about 50 to 99% of the speed of light*. You do want to make sure to connect each hot lead to a separate breaker on a different hot leg in the panel. Also assure a good bond to neutral and ground and you’re all set while the MOVs last! Question:	Can a load be connected to this protection device, such as a clothes dryer or does this need nothing attached
Answer:	3-Phase is mostly commercial use. If you have a normal residential home, you don't need 3phase.Keep with 51120-1 it's for a 200 amp home service. Real simple to install you need a 20 amp double pole breaker and a 4 to 10 ft piece of romex 12/2 wire depending where you are installing this. You want to install this right after the 200 amp breaker and yes this really works. Friday we had a tornado hit parts of North Carolina the power was going on and off and I had no problems. my neighbors did blown gfci outlets and ac capacitors went out. We'll worth the money.
Question:	Will this fit an ITE panel
Answer:	The lasting quality of an SPD is in the number, size and quality of the MOVs (metal oxide varistors). They are consumable, or sacrificial, being used up eating spikes and portions of surges. If they are in use frequently or for higher value events they will last a shorter overall time.

Question:	If this is bad could it cause whining from speakers
Answer:	The circuit breaker should not cause any interference issues, as it is completely passive, but stranger things have happened. To check I would first make sure that there is full voltage available at the head unit and the amplifier. If there is more than ~0.5V drop to either, there is a connection problem that needs help first. If the power is ok, listen for the whine with the engine off (no battery charger either), and with the engine running to see if it might be something related to the engine (alternator, ignition system, fuel pump). If there is no difference between running and not running, take the audio power (amplifier and head unit if they are both connected to the breaker) off the switched side of the breaker and connect it to the battery side (it should still be fused, just for safety), open the breaker contacts and listen to the speakers. If it still whines it isn't the breaker, though it could be the breaker's location through signal coupling. If you can get access to an oscilloscope (check at a local college if they have an electrical technology or engineering degree, and you should also be able to find a student willing to help for a few minutes), I would probe the speaker wires to find the frequency you are hearing (or use a good microphone and the FFT function in Audacity to isolate the primary frequency you are hearing) with only the amplifier powered up. Then look for that frequency on the power wires to the amplifier. If there is no whine with only the amplifier powered I would power the head unit as well and probe the power to that for the frequency. If the oscilloscope has an FFT function, that would speed up the process significantly since you only have to find the frequency you are looking for; if it isn't present => next test. If you can find the frequency on the power wires (or there was a whine present after bypassing the breaker) I would try to run the wires completely outside the vehicle (only for testing) to minimize the potential for coupling. Try the sound with the engine on and off. If there is still a whine with the power run outside the vehicle the noise may be coming from one of the audio components, see if you could borrow a similar amplifier and/or head unit to isolate the issue. Question:	How big are the ring terminals
Answer:	It's been quite a while since I installed that unit. But, if I recall, they're either 1/4-20 studs or, maybe 10/24 studs. The 10/24 studs are a bit smaller than the 1/4-20 so, if you were to prepare for the larger one, you'd be good for both when it arrives. Sorry but, that's the best I can do.

Answer:	You need to know the amperage of all three amps ( current draw at output). If the distribution block doesn't have fuses and its just a block you will need a fuse at least whatever amperage all three amps draws.

Answer:	Hang on. I believe the question is whether a transformer is used or if digital power electronics are used. The latter is extremely efficient. Cockcroft Walton multipliers and Marx multipliers have existed since the early 1920s. Yes, 100 years ago. This wouldn't require a patent unless it was invented before 1950. Voltage detection in less than .5 msec was available then too. So it's unclear why a patent was even awarded. Efficiencies over 95% are the norm today. So it matters. A transformer is far less effecient. DOES IT USE A TRANSFORMER for conversation from 220 to 110 and 110 to 220? That's the question.

Answer:	I'd recommend Snap Circuits Junior for younger kids. They have better parts, more chunky, than the advanced version. Reading is needed for most projects-yes, for schematics -not really. Once you get the hang of it, what shows in which level layer, they are good to go. Basic letters and numbers, but the "Jr." might be better for a 5 yr old. Depends on how much time you are willing to spend overlooking his shoulder if he can't do something by himself. I'd say follow the mfg. guidelines on the box this one says 8+), minus one year for regular kids. It's also about their manual/manipulation skills. So trust what you know about your child.

Question:	Is this the old stye actual qo1515 without the hook? the one with the hook the qot style will not fit in my panel. everybody seems to mislabel them

Answer:	Not sure what Square D was thinking when they redesigned their load centers. You must have an old load center like mine. Be sure your vendor specifically advertises a pre-1967 unit. My vendor sent me one with hook (meaning not a pre-1967). I had to return it. Later, I bought the correct units from a home improvement store- at double the cost of the kind with hook. My 20 amp package was labeled 'QO2020C', and the 15 amp was labeled 'QO1515C'.
