Need good amount of lean onto the building and up a foot or so past the roofline. Don't go near the top rung to stand. I do enjoy the ladder and its compact feature when not in use. If you are over 200 lbs, you will need the most sturdy ladder they make. At 180, this does have a bit of bow when I am on it. Hope this helps. LTD

Answer:	I think depends on how you set it up and/or needs. They’re adjustable or....placable to needs which is nice.You can either angle it or straight up and down. We had the option of placement of rollers on the bottom for pitch or not just depends on needs. We chose straight up and down cause we are not using as often. If the height was off we would have measured to adjust for pitch/angle.

Answer:	Yes. I have done it. Use a sharp hacksaw or diamond plated metal cutting blade on a circular saw. This is stainless steel. So using a standard pipe cutter will ruin the blade on the cutter. Been there! I bought a 12 foot and cut 2 feet off. You might consider a 12 foot unit because as of today it is $84 cheaper than the 6 foot
