Chuck William's Country French

Tane di Semola is made using a simple straight dough. Be sure to use the finely ground semolina flour that is used for making pasta rather than the coarser grind that is similar to farina, a protein-rich flour also ground from durum wheat. This bread is a good one to choose if you will be using the Delay Timer. It is fantastic warm with garlic butter melting in, and also makes great bruschetta.

Directions

Place all the ingredients in the pan according to the order in the manufacturer’s instructions. Set crust on dark and program for the French Bread or Basic cycle; press Start. (This recipe may be made using the Delay Timer.)

When the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack. Let cool to room temperature before slicing.

FETA AND SPINACH BREAD

Feta cheese is always associated with Greek cooking. It is a firm white sheep’s milk cheese that crumbles easily and holds its shape during baking. It is stored in brine, so feta should be rinsed in cold water before using. If storing it again, cover it with fresh water. Feta has a strong salty nature, so you don’t need to add as much salt to this dough as to others. Because of its strong flavor, a little feta goes a long way.

APPLE CHALLAH

Challah is a traditional Jewish egg bread that has no peer as far as I am concerned, because of its delicate cakelike texture. This nondairy version makes a traditional stuffed braided apple and honey bread suitable for Rosh Hashanah. Some bakers like to use two or three different types of apples in their fillings, rather than just one, for different flavors and textures. This loaf is baked in the oven.

MARZIPAN KRINGLE

I love bread made in the beautiful pretzel shape. Whole loaves shaped into pretzels may be unfamiliar to you, but for centuries this has been the shape of bread made for weddings and holidays. Some bakers prefer to shape this loaf into a thick horseshoe instead. Marzipan, also called massepain in French—simply almond paste—is one of my favorite fillings. It is a combination of ground almonds, sugar, and egg whites beaten into a meringue. It is said to have been invented in Milan by nuns. Serve this kringle for brunch with coffee, or tea, and fresh orange juice, and savor every bite.

User questions & answers

Question: Using Zwave, can you remotely turn on/off the fan to manually recirculate air, or can you only set the temperature? Can you read the current temp
Answer: I don't know about the other software support. I use Nexia. Yes, you can read the current temperature, and set the target temperature. Yes, you can set fan modes: auto, on, cycle within the app.
Question: Is there a way to control temperature overshoot? thought 'indoor heat delta stage 1 off' would do it, but no options available on screen
Answer: Good question. Not sure. I would imagine there is a way to do that. There are many functions that are on sub menus that don't show on the screen in the picture but I have not done that myself.
Question: Can it work with Smart Things
Answer: I use it with my zwave home security system. I also can access it remotely through the alarm system app.
Question: Can I easily override the program with the z-wave controller or manually and will the thermostat resume its normal program automatically
Answer: I'd like to be able to change the thermostat to ESM (energy save mode) through z-wave. I don't see the option in HomeSeer.

User questions & answers

Question: I have an older trane xl1800 dual stage system, can i use this thermostat with a relay panel for this unit and work properly
Answer: if you have a non-communicating , you would need the relay panel and have it properly configured to your system
Question: Can you set this to run on just one zone
Answer: Yes, the XL1050 can be used with a single zone.
Question: Can i use this thermostat on my old trane xl1800 2 stage unit
Answer: No. You have to use Trane XL 824 Thermostat since the old Trane unit is a "non-communicating" system. The 1050 is for the new "communicating" systems.
Question: Is this compatible with the xl 20 i
Answer: Perfectly I also have XL20I and I can keep my house to 80 and be comfortable as I can control the humidity level with it something I never saw in other thermostats.
Question: Is this compatible to Trane Tcontr24as52daa
Answer: Please provide the correct model number. Otherwise, if you meant model TCONT824AS52DAA then it is compatible. The Trane thermostat with this model number (TCONT824AS52DAA) is also marketed as ACONT824AS42DAA by American Standard and is succeeded by ACONT824AS42DBA (TCONT824AS52DBA).
Question: Does this thermostat reset and go on automatically after power goes out and then back on
Answer: No it doesn’t. You have to be home to reset it once power goes back on.
Question: Can this product by installed by a week-end warrior

Question: is it dual duel compatable
Answer: Yes, this is compatible with virtually all Conventional (gas/electric), Heat Pump and Dual Fuel systems

ecobee3 Smarter Wi-Fi Thermostat with Remote Sensor, 2nd Generation

Ecobee

Based on 4 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Ordinary thermostats only read the temperature in one room, but are supposed to deliver comfort in all rooms. Ecobee3 remote sensors deliver the right temperature in the rooms that matter most. Now homekit enabled. Ecobee3 sensors know which rooms are occupied to deliver the right temperature in the right places. And they know whether someone's home to help you save energy and money when you're away. Ecobee3 comes with 1 free remote sensor that measures temperature and occupancy. You can have up to 32 sensors. The more you add, the smarter your Ecobee3 becomes at delivering comfort where it matters and savings where it counts.

  • Works with Alexa for voice control (Alexa device sold separately).
  • Smart, really smart - intuitively understands when to turn on your heating or cooling equipment based on your home's unique energy profile, the weather outside, and thousands of other data points to make sure you're comfortable at all times
  • Knows you have a life - senses whether anyone's home and which rooms are occupied, delivering comfort when you're at home and saving you energy and money when you're not

User questions & answers

Question: My thermostat is only used for heating the house and only has 2 wires, a red and white. Can i still use this ecobee
Answer: If you have a really old 2-wire system, one that does NOT have modern solid state controls, then Ecobee won't work right off the shelf, even with their 2-3 wire power conversion module. These heating plants predate the 1980s and use "dry contact" thermostats. You can make it work if you install a 24v isolation relay. Ecobee outlines the procedure on their web site, but it takes some basic electrical wiring knowledge. I'm not sure if you can use the 2-wire conversion module with an isolation relay - it should be possible somehow or other. If you have a third wire running to the thermostat (it's often there) then you should use it to run 24V to the Ecobee, and ignore the conversion module.
Question: Is there a provision to bypass the 'auto off' motion sensor so that my dogs don't suffer from the heat when I'm out
Answer: Yes- you can disable the Smart Home/Away feature under the "Sensors" section of the interface, so that the thermostat will follow only the schedule/preset temperatures. In my case, I disabled it because I wanted the opposite functionality (I didn't want the system turning on if I stopped at home for a hour over lunch). Note that the "Follow Me" feature is a separate setting (found in the Sensors section as well) that allows the system to track where you are in the house and attempt to heat/cool that part of the house closer to your desired setpoint.
Question: Does the main thermostat have a sensor for the first floor? Or is the white sensor needed for that floor? Is the black hub a sensor
Answer: Main thermostat and white (remote) includes a temperature sensor and a motion sensor. First, you don't have to use the remote sensor. Second, if you use the remote sensor, the main sensor will combine the input of both (main and remote) temperature sensors and based on the amount of time spent in each area using the motion sensor. If motion is detected more near the main and less near the remote (as a %), then the main temperature will weigh heavier than the remote. As well, you do not need to use remotes and can be assigned to work during selected schedules only. It's quite amazing, but I haven't used them on my system yet. I figured I would learn the rest of the system before I introduced them.
Question: is this a different model than the ecobee3 that is slightly less expensive? Also if wifi is out can you control it fully manually
Answer: Yes, this is a different model then the ecobee3 lite. The ecobee will still be able to function as a thermostat and talk to the sensors, if your wifi goes out. You can still manually control your heating and cooling at your ecobee without wifi.
Question: Compatible with alexa? do i have to buy nexia bridge for it to work
Answer: For the thermostat alone, no nexia bridge is needed.
Question: Can you set Temperature limits on this thermostat
Answer: Yes you can.
Question: The connection key to setup wifi will not work so i am not able to connect it to wifi. anyone know the fix
Answer: Must use your phone and the app.
Question: Is this thermostat compatible with the xr624 connection
Answer: Yes, it is compatible. The XR724 replaces XL624.
