Answer:	I have a 5 year old Lux Thermostat. When we bought a new Rheem this past summer, the technician pulled the batteries out of it saying they were not needed. End result, is every time we have a power outage, the thermostat looses it's programming. it losses it when we change back and forth from heat to cool also. I'd be wary of any advice about removing batteries unless you're sure that it does not affect the thermostat memory. i say this as the A/C is on and it's program is set on 72 degrees. i had it set on 75 and have not attempted to reprogram it since that would be just a temporary fix it resets down to 72 often not sure why.

Answer:	I just went to Best Buy to play with the RTH9585WF and see what is the difference in the settings. Color options do seem to be slightly different. Both have 7 day programing (four settings per day) plus vacation etc. The literature says the 9585 automatically switches between cool/heat but in 9585 system (MODE) there is only "heat", "cool" and "off". So my guess is the automatic is not a setting you pick. 9560 offers the forth option of automatic and will show heat and cool adjustments on the home page setting on the panel. Other than that I do not see any difference. My guess is the 9585 has a newer chip set but honestly I have no idea. I called Honeywell and the tech could not even tell me the difference other than it's the second generation model. Both work with Alexa and other smart devices and smart hubs. I'm still thinking of returning the 9580 for the 9585 but if I have to switch between heat and cold that is a deal breaker and I kind of like seeing the date when I walk buy. My guess is in a few years Honeywell will over a unit to compete with the Ecobee with something like Alexa built into it. Frankly, I'd purchase the Ecobeen 4 but my wife of 35 years thought the Ecobeen being black and kind of large and the white mounting plate was ugly and after 35 years of marriage I felt like this decision was not worth the fight.

Answer:	When you put it on circulate, the fan comes on for about 10 minutes every 20 minutes or so. The owners manual says it runs about 35% of the time. I used this feature this Fall with the system off (no heat or a/c) just to circulate the air through my Filtrete filters.

Answer:	I called Honeywell and was told the "C" wire is blue and in fact mine is blue. I have no black wire. I have 5 wires yellow, white, blue, green and red. I was told I could check for AC voltage by connecting my meter to the red and blue wires. The Honeywell tech was very helpful. 800 468-1502.

Answer:	There is no functional difference between the two. This TH9320WF5003 is white and the RTH9580WF1005 is silver. The RTH9580WF1005 is the retail model with a 1 year warranty and this one is intended to be a contractor only model with a 5 year warranty. Honeywell's former policy was that the TH9320WF5003 warranty wouldn't be honored if not installed by a contractor. However, they have since changed this. You now get 1 year with this too if you install it yourself.

Answer:	Yes, the app lets you set multiple locations and also multiple thermostats within each location. I use two separate locations (home and cottage) and one location has two thermostats (wood and LP). I find it easier to set everything up via the web interface (mytotalconnectcomfort) and then use the web or the app to manage the thermostats.

Answer:	You can but Alexa will only answer on the one that it hears most clearly. We have a dot in the kitchen, and living room and the ecobee in the hall they are all 3 are within 10-15 feet on the next one and only one answers when we speak to Alexa.

Answer:	No need to have a Honeywell gateway for the Honeywell rth6580wf. You only need a wireless Internet modem dsl/broadband service phone line.

Answer:	I found this information on another website (http://programmablethermostat.info/honeywell-rth6580wf-wi-fi-7-day-programmable-thermostat/)Real Time Clock:This thermostat does NOT have an internal battery. All program and installer set up functions are saved on to a chip and retained in case of a power outage. It does utilize a super capacitor for short term retention of the clock. If there is a lengthy power outage and if the RTH6580WF is connected to the internet, when power is restored it will automatically resynchronize with the internet time.
Question:	I have 4 wires, 1st wire is w/ 2nd y/3rd is g/4th is rh will this thermostat work with these wires
Answer:	If you have no Internet, this thermostat will simply operate as a non-WiFi enabled programmable thermostat (e.g., follow the schedule that you previously created) OR you use the buttons on it to adjust it manually. The only thing you lose with not having the Internet is the ability to use your phone to interact with it (e.g., change the settings and/or update the schedule). Just pretend like it is 1970 and adjust the thermostat like your parents did.
Question:	Does this work with the nest temperature sensor
Answer:	I did the following in a two-wire heat-only setup and it worked: 1) On the back panel of the new thermostat, remove the small jumper between the RC and R connectors. 2) Connect the outputs of a 24V AC transformer (I happened to use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJ7RHS5?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image) to the RC and C connectors on the new thermostat back panel. It does not matter which of these two wires goes to RC and which goes to C. 3) Connect the wire that had gone to either RC or R on the old thermostat to the R connector on the new thermostat back panel. Connect the wire that had gone to W on the old thermostat to the W connector on the new thermostat back panel. 4) Plug in the transformer to a nearby 120 V outlet. Snap the body of the new thermostat onto its back panel. Continue with the instructions provided with the new thermostat.

Answer:	The gray color is very nice, but if you're blocking out light fromstreet lights, the black are better for that. I've bought "white, gray and black"in these shades. They last a good long time with daily use, putting them upand down etc. But, and there's always a but, the sun will bleach out the blackones. They turn grayish with the sun hitting them after a while. From outsideit can look a little weird. I use that as my time to change the black for a new one.This color change doesn't stop them from light blocking...so, if its not a windowthat gets lots of looks from people passing by, then there's no problem. I bought thebox of six because I figured I'd be replacing them often. So far they've lasted 2 yearswith no problems.

Answer:	Just pick up a roll double sided 3M mounting tape and trim to fit.
Question:	Does this work with alexa
Answer:	They should work on any type of blind that has a cord you can wrap around the plastic piece. As long as you have a smooth surface to stick these to it should work. They don't stick very well to anything textured.
Question:	Can this be mounted vertically
Answer:	I have mine on the window frame, but I'm sure it would work just fine on glass! Have not yet removed so not sure about thenadhesive, typically any adhesive glue comes off with a little nail polish remover so you should be just fine!
