Answer:	The span can bee set to 1, 2, or 3.

Answer:	There are 4 set points for each day.
Question:	How long do the batteries last? How long do you have to replace the batteries after the low-indicator light comes on
Answer:	I don't have an exact answer about battery life. But my sort of reliable memory is, 6 or 9 months. The batteries seem to last longer in the Honeywell. When the low-indicator symbol appears it gives you a week or two to replace the batteries. But the problem is I sometimes failed to notice the symbol. It doesn't matter in one way--when you replace the batteries you have to completely reprogram your 7 days :(.
Question:	Does the heating start up at the programmed time or does it start earlier to be at the set temperature at the start time
Answer:	It starts when the temp hits the set temp. If the unit is set @ 70 for the winter, the unit will not cycle on until it drops below 70. In the summer if you want it at 68 the units kicks on at 69. It is not a "smart" device but you can set presets for the week and week end. I've had my unit for about 5 years. It has worked well and was about $50.

Answer:	"EMER BUTTON: When in Normal Run mode, the usage of this button variesdepending upon your specific system configuration. For heat pump systems,pressing this button enables your emergency heat function, which is described in greater detail in the OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS section. For conventional systems, there is no such thing as emergency heat, so this button will have no effect."That's what my manual for a similar model says. (Actually, I see it is the same model that I have.) As the other guy remarked, it seems to just turn on the secondary heating for a heat pump system, normally electric heating coils. Electric heat is usually a bad idea, but it's what you typically get with a heat pump setup. So the electric company burns some gas or something, heats some water, makes some steam, runs it through a turbine, turns a generator, runs it through some transformers, sends it through some long wires, runs it through some more transformers, sends it to your house, where it runs through some resistance wires and makes some heat. As you might guess, that is not a very efficient operation when compared with just burning the gas in your furnace in the first place. The heat pump part gives you a little heat for slightly less cost when it's pretty warm outside.I don't know why you might need it unless the heat pump part fails and the supplementary electric coils don't come on.

Answer:	The models on Amazon can vary. I ordered the wrong one by mistake. After I discovered mine did not have the swing setting I called Lux. They were so gracious to send me the correct version free with me agreeing to send the other one back. Lux thermostats work great. Customer service is great. Honeywell is pathetic!

Answer:	First, identify which model you have by looking behind the door. If you have the early model TX500U, this does have 9 swing settings. Swing #1 is +\-.25F. Swing #4 is +\-1F. Swing #9 is +\-2.25F. If you have the newer design TX500Ua or TX500Ub, Swing settings (#1 - #9) do not apply to these thermostats. Instead, the adjustment is called "System Cycle Duration". Temperature variation is now controlled by setting (3) different settings on your thermostat labeled Item #8, #9 and #10 (one for each mode: Heat, Cool, and Emergency Heat if applicable).These three settings will control how frequently your heating/cooling system will be allowed to cycle ON during room temperature control. The biggest problem with this thermostat is the unreliable remote connectivity ever since Honeywell spun off their thermostat division 6 months ago. Now it’s frequent periods of time where the thermostat will not respond to remote commands. It’s maddening
Question:	What if i have a C wire
Answer:	When you put it on circulate, the fan comes on for about 10 minutes every 20 minutes or so. The owners manual says it runs about 35% of the time. I used this feature this Fall with the system off (no heat or a/c) just to circulate the air through my Filtrete filters.

Answer:	Yes, it is only meant to dry the gel polish and it works. I wouldn’t use it to dry a full set, but maybe if you just needed to dry something on your nails quick to keep it from moving.

Answer:	Yes, That is how I run mine.
Question:	What is the lowest temperature setting. I just need a setting to keep pipe from freezing, 35 or 40 degrees maybe
Answer:	You can configure the thermostat for "heat only" in the ISU menu by setting the number of cooling stages to 0, but if you're using a radiant floor heat system, I don't think this thermostat is the best choice, as it assumes forced air heat which uses entirely different heating response algorithms than radiant floor heat. Forced air is much hotter than water and is introduced into a room at a few select locations rather than throughout the room. Air also cools off much faster than water. You can get reasonable temperature consistency with a forced air system by turning on the heat when the temperature drops a bit below the set point, then turning off the heat when the temperature reaches the set point. In a radiant floor system, this would always lead to overshooting the set point, as the water in the floor remains hot even after you turn off the actuators and will continue to radiate into the room. It would also let the room get too cool, as well, as it takes longer for the hot water to heat the room as the water isn't as hot and it takes time to circulate.There are quite a few thermostats out there which offer radiant floor, slab and baseboard heating algorithms that will do a better job, taking into account the different thermal mass and different heating/cooling rates of air and water. The best ones are adaptive and will actually measure how long it takes the radiant floor to heat the room up, how much it overshoots the set temperature by and how long it takes the room to cool off due to thermal mass. They then adjust when the actuators turn on and off based on this "real-world" information, to insure the room temperature stays where you want it.

Answer:	I have a split system were the condensor is outside and the heater and blower motor are in the attic a typical system. I had to get 24 volts from the attic system to power up the thermostat this is what you need to do if you don't have a c wire. this was easy.

What caused you to think you needed a transformer? Are you running this stand-alone without a doorbell, or is your existing doorbell transformer lower than 16 volts ac or lower than 20 VA?

Answer:	There actually is a red jumper, but you'll find it off to the side of the connector plate, where it's not in the way of any wires. The instruction book will show you where, and also the instructions indicate that you can break that jumper if your setup doesn't require one.

Answer:	You can adjust it from .5 to 3 degrees, this is the very reason I bought it. I have mine set for a 1 degree swing. All honeywell thermostats do not have a adjustable swing and are set for .5 degrees which mean your furnace is constantly starting and stopping.
