Answer:	No need to have a Honeywell gateway for the Honeywell rth6580wf. You only need a wireless Internet modem dsl/broadband service phone line.

All program and installer set up functions are saved on to a chip and retained in case of a power outage. It does utilize a super capacitor for short term retention of the clock. If there is a lengthy power outage and if the RTH6580WF is connected to the internet, when power is restored it will automatically resynchronize with the internet time.
Question:	I have 4 wires, 1st wire is w/ 2nd y/3rd is g/4th is rh will this thermostat work with these wires
Answer:	If you have no Internet, this thermostat will simply operate as a non-WiFi enabled programmable thermostat (e.g., follow the schedule that you previously created) OR you use the buttons on it to adjust it manually. The only thing you lose with not having the Internet is the ability to use your phone to interact with it (e.g., change the settings and/or update the schedule). Just pretend like it is 1970 and adjust the thermostat like your parents did.
Question:	Does this work with the nest temperature sensor
Answer:	I did the following in a two-wire heat-only setup and it worked: 1) On the back panel of the new thermostat, remove the small jumper between the RC and R connectors. 2) Connect the outputs of a 24V AC transformer (I happened to use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJ7RHS5?ref=ppx_pt2_dt_b_prod_image) to the RC and C connectors on the new thermostat back panel. It does not matter which of these two wires goes to RC and which goes to C. 3) Connect the wire that had gone to either RC or R on the old thermostat to the R connector on the new thermostat back panel. Connect the wire that had gone to W on the old thermostat to the W connector on the new thermostat back panel. 4) Plug in the transformer to a nearby 120 V outlet. Snap the body of the new thermostat onto its back panel. Continue with the instructions provided with the new thermostat.

Answer:	You can see it on "Cool to Dry" mode, but it uses your air-conditioning to regulate the humidity. This can be expressive because it may cool beyond the temp you set

Answer:	it's mechanical,so water shouldn't interfere with operation. My concern would be with premature rusting of the internal parts, like timer spring and valve and release mechanism. I believe these timers are designed to get wet, just not stay wet.

Answer:	There are no settings. It is merely an automatic shut off. The device needs a person to turn the dial to how many minutes before it shuts off.

Answer:	No, it's just a screen door, no glass.

Answer:	Yes, but I wouldn't recommend more than a 1/2" total off sides or bottom. I'd also recommend that you get corner braces to prevent sagging. I had to put those on after about a month because door began to drag on ground. Hope that helps.

Question:	Is this compatable with the temp sensors
Answer:	I don't think "the hole" is the issue, but it will certainly fit over it as the Gen 2 & 3 are about the same time. However, I would highly recommend you install the Gen 3 back cover plate with the thermostat, it will make for a much better fit.

Answer:	I believe that the thermostat can only control to one specified zone sensor at a time. Although we have 6 separate temperature sensors through out our house, it appears that you can only select one of those sensors for the thermostat to respond to.....(hope that makes sense....)

Question:	How to wire up voice thermostat with only 2 wires ,r and w
Answer:	In most cases, Nest thermostats can get enough power from your system’s heating and cooling wires. But in a small number of situations you may need to connect a common or C wire to deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat when your heating and cooling wires are not able to deliver the needed power for your Nest thermostat. Battery drain issues normally happen when the power from your heating and cooling system goes out. The 2 AAA alkaline batteries are used as a backup, or to supplement if your system can’t deliver enough power.
Question:	I don't have a 'C' wire... how difficult is to adapt the Ecobee using the included cable and how is it done
Answer:	No
Question:	If you have an echo (alexa) in the room already, is there a way to turn the alexa on the thermostat “off”? or turn off the microphone/listening
Answer:	I found an interactive video on my utility’s website (Commonwealth Edison) that ran through the wiring questions. It will tell you if your system is compatible with Nest thermostats.
