Question:	Where do you get the filters
Answer:	Yes it only releases water to a certain level. Has a spring loaded cap that dispenses as needed. There is a wicking filter that has to be replaced occasionally. It has a humidity control that you set for your comfort level.
Question:	Are the wick and filter the same thing
Answer:	Holds one bottle full which is 2-1/2 gallons. Unless it is really cold out, one bottle lasts 24 hours. Best is to plan filling it up first thing in the morning and that will last 24 hours. When it is mild out (75 ° in KC today) one bottle will last 2 days.
Question:	Is the Copper night selection model hd3120dcn
Answer:	I live in the desert so on "Low" I would have to fill it twice a day, on "High" I would have to fill it 3 times a day.
Question:	The top of the filter housing on mine only connects on the two front tabs. The back of the housing just sits on top of filter. Is this correct
Answer:	Sort of hard to say - since it's subjective. I keep mine outside my bedroom door - on the first speed - and it doesn't bother me at all. Sort of just a low fan sound - about the same as the heat kicking on and off. I don't notice it at all. However, all of the other speeds, in my opinion, are very loud. It goes up to 5 - and that sounds like a 747 idling. I guess if you had it in some remote location and wanted to crank it up, the higher speeds would work. I live in a 1200 sq ft townhome and, set at 45, it keep the upstairs (where it is) at about 45% and the downstairs at about 35%. Perfect for me. I'm really happy with it. No more shocking all the pets with static electricity!

Answer:	Juan, so far as I know, the drain line came with the unit, but I haven't used it, and I'm not planning to use it. Regrettably, I can't answer your question.
Question:	I have a 2600 sqft home built in 1989, and am considering getting the Aprilaire 500 vs the 600. Is that a wise choice
Answer:	Get a section (sold by the foot or roll) of flexible tubing from Plumbing aisle at Home Depot. Make sure you get a hose clamp as well to secure tubing to equipment. Tubing should fit outlet. Clamp too.
Question:	can the humidifier bypass duct be on either side ?? The pictures all show it "by passing" to the left - i need it to the right
Answer:	You might be able to vent it through the ceiling exhaust fan, but just dumping the heat into the bathroom itself would be a very bad idea.
Question:	How often do you have to buy new parts? Filters? Etc. And what do they run you each year
Answer:	Of course any/all A/C units generate heat. Yes, you will need to vent the hot air outside or into the attic. The unit comes with white, flexible ducting, which attacked by screwing the ducting into the discharge port on the rear of the unit. Should all be covered in the instructions. No such thing as an air conditioning unit that does not generate heat.

Question:	I have had this unit a year and now the F flashes even though it's full. And it doesn't turn on consistently. Any thoughts
Answer:	There is a plastic tubular piece that should slide up and down to warn water is low (F). Lime / calcium build up and seize it or it doesn't get seated right on the switch. Im going on my third year with this unit. Beats Holmes / Sunbeam, etc. in its ability to cover my 2 bdrm apartment at 45% when its cold and dry outside. The others always end up leaking or making squeaking noises.
Question:	why does my humidifer show F
Answer:	Mine did the same thing when I received it. I called the factory in AR and they told me to turn the fan unit upside down and find a silver bar about 2" long. Spring the bar down a little so it will make contact with the water float directly beneath. Spring it ever so slightly and then a second or third time if necessary so as not to damage the switch. Once I did that the fan could be identified as F1, F2, F3, F4, or A. Be sure to plug and unplug the unit each time an adjustment is made so the machine can reset.
Question:	How often do you need to replace the filter if you run it every day
Answer:	Once in early November when I get the homie out. Replace it in January. I use both a bacteria stat and a liquid descaler which I squirt a little in when I refill the tank. Avoids smell and makes the filters work better. You can buy them premixed in liquid form. The better your wick works the less the humid will run and presumably it will last longer. I’m still using my old kenmore which I’ve had for several years.
Question:	does white dust occurs
Answer:	The "white dust" the questioner is asking about is mineral deposits from water when the water is sprayed into the air. This is an evaporative humidifier where water evaporates off of a wick, not a spray atomizer that sprays water into the air along with the minerals in the water. All of the minerals will remain in the wick of the humidifier, requiring the wick to be replaced. The higher the calcium content in your water, the more frequently you will need to replace the wick.

Answer:	It fits the tabletop model that I have which is rated for 1000 sq ft. The next size up available on Amazon is a tower model and the manufacturer info says that model uses dual (I assume that means it takes 2) 1040 filters. Hope this helps

Answer:	It has four filters in the bottom of the unit. They do look like “wicks” I don’t see a separate wick of any other kind.

Question:	Having a really hard time with filters. Mine aren't even lasting two weeks. How do you make them last
Answer:	There should be 4 tabs on each lower housing (the housing that hold the filters), and there should also be 4 corresponding slots on each top filter housing. The lower housing should have two tabs sticking straight up in the front, and two tabs sticking horizontally out the back. The two tabs in the back are just flat tabs, and they are supposed to just slide into the two slots in the back of the top housing. The two front tabs on the lower housing are shaped such that they will "snap" into the two slots in the front of the top housing. The tabs on the back of the lower housing are used to align the top housing with the lower housing, and to help keep it in place. Check to see if the lower housings on your unit have the tabs in the back, and if the top housings have the slots for them.
Question:	Where do you get the filters
Answer:	No. You'll need 1/4" copper tubing, 6" duct tubing to go from supply side of humidifier to the return air duct, a suitable 6" circular duct to fasten to the hole you'll make in the return air duct, bell wire to run from controller to voltage reduction transformer. Do yourself a favor and get a roll of foil tape for taping up seams and leaks.
Question:	Are the wick and filter the same thing
Answer:	Works quite well in my 2300 sf house. Was built in '92 so not too old but still not as sealed up tight like recent construction. From what I have observed, the humidifier doesn't run all the time and humidity levels have stayed constant even with fluctuating outside temps.

Answer:	Yes, it can be changed from left to right. Basically turn the main part of the unit upside down and switch the drain and plug from top to bottom. The name plaque can be removed and installed right side up. Quite simple design.

Answer:	I don't mean to say the same thing over again, Patrick said the same thing I'm going to say, but a new pad is all you will need in this unit. I'm also a hvac technican and April air 600ms are our humidifier of choice. I've seen some people who have such bad water the pad gets clogged mid winter, and I've also seen people who have bad water and have been using the same pad for years. rule of thumb to get the most out of your unit is to change the pad every year. You could get away with longer but why would you when you can get replacement pads for cheap at home depot. To install you will need 2 6" 90's, 6" flex duct, 1" zip screws, 2 wire, 3/4 inch pvc with fittings and glue, small piece of 1/2" vinyl tubing (optional), and a pair of tin snips. I would suggest hiring a professional unless you're an avid do it yourself type of person, but it's defiantly something a average homeowner COULD do with enough time and YouTube videos. As far as the solenoid, it almost never goes bad, like Patrick said they usually last around 10 years. I've seen some go bad in as little as 2 but those are 1 in 100 and factory defected. I hope this helps someone down the line.

Answer:	We are running three of them 24/7 in a wood boat restoration shop where holding humidity at 60% is critical. In our experience, while they do gurgle as water leaves the tanks, which ALL humidifiers do, they are incredibly efficient, quiet and absolutely trouble free.
Question:	Has anyone else had issues with the unit not pulling from the left water bottle - even after the right one is empty
Answer:	I bought this same unit back in 2010, and it had the same issue. The left tank would never drain. As others have mentioned the "feet" on the left tank are shorter than the "feet" on the right tank. You need to raise the left tank up just a bit in order for it to drain properly. I solved the issue with a piece of 3/4 inch PVC pipe that was 2 inches long. I cut the 2 inch long piece of PVC pipe down the middle, length wise, creating two equal "half moon" curved spacers. With the left tank removed, I placed the two spacers in the channel where the feet of the left tank sit. This channel has a curve to it, so with the spacers placed curved side down, into the curved channel, the PVC pipe spacers fit nicely into the channel, preventing them from sliding off. With the spacers placed underneath each foot, it raises the left tank up enough to allow the tank to properly drain after the right tank is empty! This has worked out great so far, and the pieces of PVC pipe are easily removed at the end of the season in order to clean the tank.

Answer:	It depends on which model you have. I have three (3) 2.15 gal. humidifiers. Two fill from the top, but do not have a remote, the third fills by lifting out the containers and this one has a remote. You need to find out the model number and contact Air Innovations. They will tell you which one fills from the top. My dual tank one fills from the bottom. The single tank ones fill from the top.
Question:	How long do the ceramic filters last
Answer:	These ceramic filters last a long time. I have had mine 3 years. The other demineralization filters only last 3 months. I wash the ceramic filters in a mild soap before storing it away. Use distilled water. Using that water will leave no white dust on you furniture.

Answer:	I know your question is quite old but who cares, right? Somebody might still read it! Have you ever taken a look at an essential oil diffuser? (I have one of those in my bedroom and it's exactly like a mini humidifier but the label says it's an "essential oil" diffuser") Well, I have taken the time to compare them because I had the same question that you have presented here and the ultrasonic delivery concept in my observant deduction is exactly the same as the 'humidifier' versions so what's the big deal, really? That said, I've read in many places that it is not recommended and some even say it will "clog it up" but I personally did not heed the warnings. I've been using REAL essential oils to add fragrance to DISTILLED water for almost 2 years now and I have witnessed no detrimental effects to my MH-512 nor my MH-801B whatsoever. I clean them if/when they begin to show any signs of getting dirty, which is rarely because I use only distilled water, so my experience leads me to feel confident in answering your question with a yes... In my experience while utilizing essential oils with distilled water only and mindful if not frequent preventative maintenance, that particular combination of actions and ingredients seems to work fine, even in the longer run. Am I lucky? I don't know, maybe, but I've been doing it for nearly 2 years and have seen absolutely nothing bad or even questionable happen to the humidifier for doing it. Nor have I nor any of my family/pets/visitors reacted adversely, actually quite the contrary. We all quite enjoy it and have even occasionally noticed a little easier breathing and happier sinuses, to be honest. As far as your choice/s of essential oils, well, that's something you need to research and figure out before you subject yourself and others to the breathable atmosphere that it creates for the lungs! For starters, I have thus far successfully used lavender, tea tree, lemongrass, rosemary and rosewood essential oils. With electrode technology, electrical current flows between submerged electrodes, resistance of the water to the electric current heats the water. The submerged electrodes are found in a replaceable canister. At the end of a humidifier season, the canister – including the electrodes, is replaced. No cleaning, no scrubbing, simply replace the canister and you’re ready for the next humidifier season. Electrode technology requires impurities in the water to promote the transfer of electricity. For this reason, water filtration is not required with electrode technology, minimizing the complexity of the installation and on-going operating costs. This unit will operate with water hardness between 3 and 36 grains – a very wide range. If reverse osmosis or deionized water is present, plumb the steam humidifier to a water line before the water flows through the reverse osmosis or deionization equipment.
