Answer:	There will normally be a directional arrow on one edge of the filter. If there is not, then just remember to install it with the filter frame reinforcement support cross webbing positioned to the inside of the filter holder so that air flow does not deform the filter and suck it into the return duct.

Answer:	Due to the design of it, the lock bar most likely won't snap in place if anything is placed between the filter and the case. Some saw dust is normal. It's a design flaw unfortunately. Honestly haven't had any running issues from the way it is set up.

Answer:	I don't know what the demoralization cartridge 7531 is. My Boneco humidifier is an older one and the filter I used for it had to be replaced every month of so. This filter costs less and lasts much longer - mine was good for the entire winter.

Answer:	The act of filtering air actually slows down the flow, so to help make up for the reduced airflow they add pleats which significantly increases the surface area of the filter, which increases the flow without reducing the filtration. Fewer pleats = less surface area = reduced air filtration per minute. More pleats = more surface area = increased air filtration per minute. So yes, the number of pleats matters. More pleats are *usually* a sign of a higher quality filter, but not always -- you can put a lot of pleats into a crappy filter too, but most don't.

Answer:	I can tell you I bought these filters because my wife has allergies and we hoped that these filters would help keep junk out of the air and help her coughing. And it has, for us anyway! We have three returns int he house and have these filters in all three. We change them every 90 days and sometimes they do look dirty and other times they don't; depends on how much your symtem runs.

Answer:	Yes, they have metal wires I have used them for years. Good price and filter. I change out every 3 months but if extreme hot weather with AC on a lot change out 2 month

Answer:	The filters hard on systems are those mesh metal. Hard for the air to get through. This type is very good and seem to last longer that the cheap blue no pleated filters.I am pleased with mine and only use this type in my unit that works 12 months ..AC and then Heat. Just make sure the size is correct for your unit.

Question:	Why are these so small? The filters I get in the store are 24.75x15.75x
Answer:	The actual measurement is 4 3/4" wide by 26" long. When open, it expands to more than 28". My heater is 27" long so there was excess amount of about 2-3 inches.

Answer:	These are a MERV 8 effiecency: a filter must remove greater than 70% of all particles in the 3.0-10.0 micron size range (E3), which includes mold spores, hair spray, pet dander, etc. A MERV 8 filter must also remove greater than 20% of particles in the 1.0-3.0 micron size range (E2), which includes insecticide dust, asbestos, bacteria, house dust, skin flakes, etc. For a MERV 8 filter, there is no minimum removal efficiency for particles in the .3-1.0 micron size range MERV 8 is approximately FPR= 7)

Answer:	Never noticed any such outcome. Odds are if you've been using a thin filter, you may have a dirty evaporator. If you use your AC a great deal, it may need service 2 times/year, otherwise servicing once a year is a must.
