Question:	I plan to staple down 3/8" engineered flooring in the upstairs of a home over vinyl flooring. Will this underlayment work underneath
Answer:	If your floor is level, just pull up the old vinyl, put down this underlayment, and float the floor. There were a few areas where I had to staple to the subfloor over this underlayment, and it worked just fine. It's not that difficult, and I am certainly not a pro.
Question:	How is it different than roberts 70-193 super felt underlayment 360-feet square roll for sound reducing and absorbing ? Is it just bigger role
Answer:	Hi There!The felt is going to have an stc rating of 66, will be 3mm thick and will be made of felt with the built in vapor barrier. The Roberts First Step underlayment is going to also be 3mm thick, with a stc rating of 67. This underlayment will be made up of two sheets of plastic with polypropylene foam beads in between those. Answer:	The Velcro will stick to most surfaces as long as it has some flat surface to it. I felt the stickiness was pretty good.

Answer:	Not sure why you would have it uncovered for extended period. We are just now installing for first time. Previous underpayment had no odor and once covered no odor year later. I think we will be just as happy with this brand

Answer:	Since your laminate already has attached pad there is no need to provide an extra layer of underlay cushioning . However if moisture coming from your concrete subfloor is an issue then a standard vapor barrier plastic should be used (plastic sheeting without any foam underlay)

Our revolutionary Advanta Green laminate floor underlayment smoothest out little sub floor imperfections while quieting impact sound and floor to ceiling noise. Not only does it dampen ambient sound in the room it's installed in, but it also inhibits sound from traveling into the room below. Although it is promoted as an upgrade underlayment taking the place of poly foam, it doesn't carry a heavy upgrade price when compared to cork or rubber. On the other hand, in recent head-to-head Sound Transmission Loss tests, Advanta Green outperformed both cork and rubber in the majority of test band frequencies.

Answer:	I don't know why you couldn't. are you looking for sound deadening?

Answer:	We used it on a second floor to make it quieter for the first floor. It did help some. It probably helps reduce noise coming up from below too, though that was less noticeable
Question:	Will this help on tile flooring to keep house warm
Answer:	This product is designed to be installed under wood flooring, not tile. If you try to put it under tile, the tile will not be stable. You need a rug.
