Living in SE Pennsylvania, I have worn them thru MANY DOWNPOURS/snowstorms/while cleaning snow off my car...even when I've, unintentionally, stepped in water puddles...stm…also at several sporting events, concerts etc. & my feet stay dry as can be! I purchased a defective Snuggit blanket online, and I was about ready to throw it away and buy another. But I took a chance on this product, and washed the blanket with Nikwax Rug Wash, then hung the blanket and sprayed it heavily with this product. I let it dry for a couple of days in the sun, and voila! The next time it rained, the water beaded up, and my horse was snug and warm and dry. That was a few months ago, and the rain still beads up on the blanket. I've purchased another small bottle, to use at the end of the winter season. I'm going to wash the blanket and re-treat it with the Nikwax spray-on, before storing it until next winter. I've also purchased and used Nikwax Rug Proof, but I like this spray on much better. I used it only to find that it considerable smoothed out the pebble and totally changed the feel of the leather. It feels plastic and spongy now. The texture of the leather was so gorgeous before. I looked it up and found that you are not supposed to use any type of product on pebbled leather because it can smooth the pebbles out. I had no idea. I wear serious boots in the winter so these shoes don't see snow deeper than two inches and in summer I wear gym shoes. this stuff is terrific! and by the way,I used it on the gym shoes twice as well and it's still working great! really good stuff! I imagine a leather jacket would only need one application unless you're out in the rain everyday. hope this helps.
