Answer:	Yes, these can be used in a microwave, but we do not recommend using a microwave that is also used for food.

Answer:	These bricks are not as strong and durable as the heavy fire brick used in wood stoves. They would likely wear out and potentially crack or break due to the abrasion & impacts from wood.

Answer:	Insulating firebricks (like all bricks) carry a health and safety warning against inhaling any dust created by the bricks. This is usually caused when fabricating the bricks (cutting, sanding, shaping, etc.). Hence the general rule about keeping them away from food. If there is no dust created, they are harmless - so in a BBQ scenario, if they are below the briquets, then it's a pretty safe application. I wouldn't put them in a microwave with food at the same time - as I don't know why you would want to do that. For outdoor use All soft insulating firebricks also absorb water, so if they repeatedly get wet / dry / hot / freeze, they will eventually crack. If they do get wet - heat them up gradually to dry them (below 200 degrees F) so the water does not turn to steam. That's the quick summary - minimize the creation of dust & try to keep them dry.

Answer:	Used these in a standard wood stove, run at the usual temperatures with a hot burn daily to burn the creosote out of the stovepipe, for about a year. They've held up well. They arrived packaged well in bubble wrap, all bricks intact. For the couple odd sizes needed for the floor pattern, they cut easily with a diamond blade on a circular saw. A carbide hacksaw blade would likely work as well for a brick or two. Laid out result was a nice tight fit. Should work nicely for any wood fired stove application in the firebox, size and thickness of course taken into consideration. If it's in the oven cooking space, can't answer, as the materials and what might go airborne and into the food would be at issue. It seems that would be strictly a manufacturer question.

Answer:	Yes. The bricks can easily handle the inside of a fire place which reaches temp above 800 degrees. Placing them along the inside walls of a grill would prob hold the heat in better.

Answer:	I do not have a Blackstone griddle so I can't answer definitively but they should work. They are abrasive without being overly hard. I clean my baking steel with them and they remove burned on food without scratching the surface. I prefer them to steel wool. I would not use them on a non-stick surface. They are fine on my seasoned steel and on my barbeque grill. I reoil but do not reseason. Because they are a bit soft they do wear out.

Answer:	Not sure if the residue is 'food safe', but it's going to be a little gritty and wouldn't want it in/on my food. Would recommend removing grates, whether on the lawn or a utility tub, clean the grates and rinse with a garden hose.

Answer:	Yes, they measure 9" by 4.5" by 1.25". They are identical to the original fire bricks in my Vermont Castings Defiant wood stove. My stove is 9 years old.

Answer:	I am not an expert in food safety but have an advanced education in materials engineering. These are refractory bricks and once fired to over 1500F in air, there should be no trace of chemicals left behind no matter what the binders used to hold the refractories together. I suggest firing of the bricks or conditioning of the bricks at least once by firing above 1500 degree Fahrenheit. In old days people used clay pots for cooking, these bricks are certainly more refractory than clay and in my opinion 99.99999% safe after firing. I hope this answers your question.
