It may slide down 1/2 " from time to time, but for the most part it stays put. I would say yes it's good for cyclists and pretty much any activity. It does not have an open cut out slit in the back of the knee, but I have not been irritated from this so I'm not sure if this area will create a binding effect while you peddle. I would not think so because the brace is flexible like spandex. I would wear it with my mt. bike on trails. Although this fits tight, I have never felt like my leg circulation was cut off.
