Answer:	Catching is not the issue. You can learn to catch with either hand. You want to the glove to go on the non-throwing hand. So instead of having them catch a ball, have them throw a ball to you. What ever hand they throw with, the glove will go on the other hand. That being said, you child will probably need the right hand throw glove which goes on the left hand.

Answer:	Youth size is not the same as an adult size. You have to pick if you need right or left size but both are not coming together. I will recommend you to ask a sport expert or try the different sizes at the sport store. My brother is 9 years old and he is using 11.5 youth size. Probably this size is going to be too small for your son.
