Answer:	Yes and No. Yes getting hit with this will hurt..a lot. But it will most likely bend and be a onetime use. As for keeping it in your car. A couple of things to keep in mind. Where you live and the law. Also to use this you need space to swing it.so sitting in your car during a carjacking... well not very effective. I would recommend something similar or fill this with sand or bbs to reinforce it and give it a bit of weight I would also get something like a pepper spray for when you can swing this..
