Answer: Whatever you want to slice. I actually use this more than the larger butcher knife, it is sturdier when cutting water melons, etc. That's not to say the big knife isn't sturdy, the longer blade just has more "flex".

Answer: I love my Rada Stubby Butcher knife, but I don't recommend it for trimming fat/membrane, and around bones. Rada R108 Carver/Boner works much better, the blade is thinner and more flexible.

Answer: The blade is stainless steel. I have several of these knives and never have sharpened them. I would say it depends on how much you use it.

Answer: The long one is just over 4 3/8 inch blade. The medium ones are just over 3 1/4 inch and the short one is 2 1/2. My favorite is the long one but I am a great fan of all the Rada knives.

Answer: I’ve never purchased a hammer toe straightener.

Answer: I do not have a sharpener, have not needed one. I don't think serrated knives are supposed to be sharpened. But I do have two of these knives and use them everyday. Other Rada knives I have had for 20+ years have never been sharpened either! And- they are made in America.

Answer: I would say "yes". I haven't sharpened them yet, but I anticipate that I will be able to do so with my Trizor Sharpener (Chef's Choice). I purchased these knives because they were not serrated and it would allow me to use y Chef's Choice sharpener. We would highly recommend these knives.

Answer: You should really only buy this blade (and the 80 tooth) for hardwoods or finish material. The large amount of teeth offer minimal splintering where the board is cut. Cutting wood that has more resin will gum up this blade before it dulls it. If you plan on cutting stock fir for framing, then buy a 40 or 60 tooth blade.
