Answer:	There is definitely some would under the foam padded outside but I can not tell you the quality of the wood. It seems cheap and hollow. When I pick up the beam I hear something rattling on the inside. Using a piece of lumber would work but you would need to add the padding on the outside. If you used the wood it would be solid and more durable. This beam is shaped like a trapezoid and a piece of lumber is a rectangle. I think a 4”x6”x8” would give you a wider base and make it more sturdy. Hopefully this helps.

Why I choosed SaflyFun: 1.Sturdiness SaflyFun's bar is more sturdy than the other one(brand B), my girl is afraid and almost flipped when she did a penny drop on bar of brand B. I can't let my girl use it. 2.Different material of the connection part between adjustable tube and main frame. The connection part of SaflyFun is in metal and brand B's is in plastic. He said that part is in metal and covered by plastic, but NO, he definitely lied, it's just plastic, I can see that. 3.The 2 round bases SaflyFun's round base is adjustable, the other one, just normal base and made by plastic.
