First of all, my Accubat weights over 24 ounces, so the Accubat is heavier than any Little League bat that I have seen in use. The handle is huge compared to a baseball bat or racquetball racquet handle and makes the Accubat hard to control. The frame is almost 2 inches all the way around. The hitting area is much smaller than a tennis racquet or racquetball racquet. I have tried to use this to hit pop ups to players ages 8 – 12. I have tried to hit with the flick or a wrist, straight armed and a combination of both. I have played tennis and racquetball so I have some experience swinging a racquet. I could not hit consistent pop ups. The ball would go short, way left, way right and most frequently squib off of the frame. This was a complete waste of time and money for me. Buy a cheap garage sale tennis racquet or just grab a bat out of the bat rack like Little League coaches have been doing for decades. |
