Answer:	I don't think it would stand up to it. The case is sort of the weak part of this item, with the latches needing to be bent into position to close, and the gauge of the aluminum is very low. I went and used my fingernail and I can dent the ribbing of the case.

Answer:	They are regular playing cards. FYI...the cards are not as “pretty” as their boxes, but this is a very nice set, and the recipients were very pleased and impressed.
