Answer:	For a 9 foot table, I would suggest a slow speed such as #6 or even #7 or perhaps #5 for an experienced player, since you do not want the puck to glide all the way to the end of the table when only a slight push is made. #1, 1.5, and 2 speed are made for 22 foot tables and even then it can be awfully fast for a beginner player.

You would probobly not want to use a #1 wax on a 14 foot board or a #5 on a 22 foot board. Experiment a little to find what wax works with your particular board/playing style. A 3 is a good start.
