Zero Tolerance Knives
ZT knives boast impeccable strength, security, convenience and efficiency in the field and at home. Zero Tolerance offers top-of-the-line quality and high performance ability in every knife, from large outdoor blades to slim everyday carrying knives. With Zero Tolerance for anything less than the best, ZT knives are proudly overbuilt with adventure in mind.
High-Performance Steel
Featuring superior toughness, excellent hardness and great wear resistance, S30V steel has high amounts of carbon and vanadium to provide superior edge-holding and abrasion resistance. S30V steel also offers users great corrosion resistance and improved ductility. With a chemical composition to prove it, S30V is a premium, high-performing steel great for everyday use.
Coated Blades
Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating is often even tougher than the blade steel underneath it. DLC-coated blades offer extra hardness, high corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance and a low friction coefficient so particles do not easily attach to the blade. DLC coatings display properties similar to a natural diamond that add beauty and attractive shine.
Fast Deployment
Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.
Secure Locking System
With two steel plates, or liners, on the inside of each handle scale, the liner locking system safely secures the blade open and prevents unwanted blade closure. The lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent closure, and angles or is bent towards the blade tang creating a bias locked position. Apply manual force to move the lockbar to the side and fold the blade back into the handle.

Zero Tolerance Sinkevich Knives
Custom knife and toolmaker, Dmitry Sinkevich, has collaborated with Kershaw and Zero Tolerance to achieve some of the most elegant, everyday carry folding pocket knives designed with clean lines, sleek looks and solid ergonomics. With practical design and enhanced detailing, Sinkevich’s characteristic clean and practical design is adorned by knife lovers everywhere.
Attractive Blade Coating
Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating is often even tougher than the blade steel underneath it. DLC-coated blades offer extra hardness, high corrosion resistance, excellent wear resistance and a low friction coefficient so particles do not easily attach to the blade. DLC coatings display properties similar to a natural diamond that add beauty and attractive shine.
Fast Deployment
Using 'caged' ball bearings for smooth blade deployment and overcoming stronger knife detent, the KVT Ball-Bearing Opening System makes one-handed knife opening fast and easy without the need of a mechanical assist. Ball-bearings surround and freely rotate around the pivot. When the user pulls back on the flipper, the blade rotates out of the handle as the ball bearings roll into place.
Secure Locking System
Kershaw’s frame lock design makes knives safer, securer, sturdier and quicker for one-handed blade deployment. The knife handle, or frame, has two metal plates on either side of the blade, and when open, the lockbar butts up against the blade’s backend to prevent blade closure. To close the knife blade, push the frame to the side to unlock the blade and fold the blade back into the handle.
Manual Flipper
Flippers on manual-open knives require user to push with quick strength until blade deploys. Some manual flippers disappear when blade deploys, others become a finger guard. Manual flippers appeal to inexperienced users as well as experienced users who prefer a classic, old-style opening. In both cases, ambidextrous flipper works as index finger applies pressure while closed knife sits in palm.
Durable Handle
A reinforced polymer of thin strands of carbon tightly woven, carbon fiber is tremendously strong yet lightweight. Strong weaves of bonded carbon atoms are used to compose carbon fiber in both Kershaw high-end knife handles and Zero Tolerance premium materials. With solid strength, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, carbon fiber is an excellent, high-performing, high-quality knife handle. Titanium is a lightweight metal alloy and it offers excellent corrosion resistance. Heavier than aluminum but still lightweight and strong, titanium is a very sturdy material often used in knife handles, locking liners, or as a blade coating to enhance performance. Titanium is a sleek, stylish, premium material that’s excellent for the ideal everyday carry.
Convenient Pocketclip
Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. A pocketclip with tip-up carry is positioned so the closed knife carries in the pocket with the tip of its blade pointed upwards. A reversible tip-up or tip-down pocketclip allows user to change tip position.

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the total length including the sheath |
Answer: | The smaller ones should fit. |
Question: | Is it a hard sheath |
Answer: | Yes, just make sure cork is secured well. |
Question: | Does the blade stay in place in the sheath or does it slide out |
Answer: | Box says China |
Question: | How thick is the blade, would it be good for slicing & such |
Answer: | they dont close by them selves tightly u have to use something to close them |
Question: | How long is the blade itself |
Answer: | Yes it is. I checked it with a circles template. It's slightly over 1 1/8" and slightly less than 1 1/4" so it's about 1 3/16" in diameter. |
Question: | Good qual steel blade? Sharpens up okay |
Answer: | Around 2 3/4 inches tall |
Question: | why does the pic say usa |
Answer: | 21/32" (16.669mm) That's 1/32" more than 5/8" I measured it by pulling the cork from the bottle and inserting it into a circles template until I found the one where the cork fit like it did in the bottle. |
Question: | How long is the blade itself |
Answer: | The cork stoppers will not retain liquids. When laid on its side or turned upside-down, liquid will slowly seep through the pores in the cork. If it were to be sloshed constantly, liquid will slowly seep through as well. I don't know how to check if they're lead free. |

Kershaw’s premier value in re-curved blades showcases effortlessly in the excellent slicing and piercing capabilities of the Kershaw Blur. While both fierce and elegant, the mild S-shaped pattern of the 3.4-inch 14C28N Sandvik Stainless Steel blade serves not merely for looks alone. The slight curvature lengthens the edge of the blade, offering wide angular dimensions and draws the middle of the blade back into the material while the S-curve moves most of the blade weight toward the tip and the concave edge keeps the material from pulling away, avoiding tip overuse, optimizing angle of attack and enhancing cutting power and efficiency. The composition sports a black DLC (diamond like coating) for a hard, sharp blade that will not chip or dull. The knife’s handle is made of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum and features Trac-Tec inserts for strong grip in any condition. Whether for slicing, skinning or defense, the Black Blur is expertly engineered by Kershaw as the perfect fit for every user

User questions & answers
Question: | How can I tell what kind of steel is used? I just received mine and can't find out by looking at the box or the knife |
Answer: | Other than what type of steel is used, it is usually stamped on the blade. Other than that, unless yur a nuclear scientists, Yu can't tell what type of steel is being used? It all depends on the Heat Treatment anyways... |
Question: | The picture shows a normal drop point style blade, however a reviewer said that it has a tanto style blade; which is it |
Answer: | I have a blur that is 5-6 years old blade is Ken Onion 1670GBBLKST that is drop point with half serrated, with glass breaker on the end of the handle, hope that helps. |
Question: | I had wanted a Blur and was just told by local police that any spring-assisted knife is considered an illegal switchblade in Calif. Can anyone confirm this |
Answer: | I am pretty sure they are allowed in CA, but your county can have different regulations. If your county police said they are illegal, check again and if they are, just remove the torsion bar. Works great without it. |
Question: | This knife was advertised on 12/13/13 as having 14C28N blade steel when I bought it. The next day the same page for the knife says 440A steel. Why |
Answer: | Are you aware that any of these knives made in China are 440A steel. Some here too BUT if Chinese then mark up is 3 or 400%. Some Chinese knives are quite nice IF pay the proper price for them. Welcome to the World Economy, if won't go away, LOL |

Kershaw Blur Knives
With a big, slightly recurved blade ideal for multitasking, Kershaw Blurs offer amazing slicing and piercing capabilities good for tackling tough jobs. The Blur family of knives have many different versions from the steels to the handle materials. The same great, useful, powerful blade shape with fierce design offer users consistency and dependability. The low profile pocketclip rests on the frame making it easy to pull from the pocket. For right-handed tip up or tip-down carry, users experience trusted SpeedSafe Assisted Opening, razor sharpness, and corrosion and wear resistance.
High-Performance Steel
Sandvik 14C28N steel is a high-performance steel with increased nitrogen in the formula for excellent corrosion resistance and hardness. The overall highest performing knife steel in the world that still maintains the productivity benefit of being fine-blankable, 14C28N steel is ideal for knife applications which place high demands on edge sharpness, edge stability and corrosion resistance.
Using a torsion bar to move the blade out of the handle, Kershaw’s revolutionary SpeedSafe Assisted Opening system enables smooth, secure, fast one-handed blade deployment. Apply manual pressure to the flipper or thumb stud with a light push or pull back to overcome resistance of the torsion bar, and the blade opens smoothly and locks into place for confident handling without premature closure.
Secure Locking System
A slimmer and lighter blade locking system, Inset Liner Lock utilizes a sturdy steel plate on the inside of the knife’s handle scales. Riveted into place in a custom-machined cutout on the handle’s interior, the plate provides the strength and security of a locking liner without the weight. Inset Liner Lock reliably prevents blade closure while ensuring conveniently quick, safe blade deployment.
One-Handed Flipper
Knives with SpeedSafe open have two options for one-handed blade deployment. To activate the smooth, instant open, user can push a thumbstud or press a flipper. The flipper on SpeedSafe assisted knives is easy to operate by both left- and right-handed users. And, once blade swings open and locks into place, flipper either disappears for aesthetics or remains visible for added finger protection.
Durable Handle
Aluminum, anodized for color, hardness and additional protection, is very durable, stain and scratch resistant for strong knife handles. Anodizing changes the aluminum’s surface so a porous coating can be applied that will accept a colored dye. Anodized aluminum gives the knife bright, eye-catching, unique colors and provides a nice, hefty, solid feel to the knife without making the knife heavy. Trac-Tec Inserts are rough-surfaced inserts that provide additional friction for a non-slip grip on a Kershaw knife’s handle scales. With extreme gripping capabilities, Trac-Tec inserts feel almost spongy when pressed with a fingertip. The inserts are comfortable and secure in the hand, and the texture is soft enough that it will not scratch or irritate the users’ hands.
Convenient Pocketclip
Kershaw designs pocketclips to fit specific knives according to their weight, intended end use, size, style and hardware. Some knives have multiple carry options, others are more streamlined. The reversible pocketclip allows user to choose to carry knife tip-up or tip-down or to choose on which side knife carries. The user may select either a preferred tip position or a preferred carry side.

User questions & answers
Question: | what size are the star screws holding the belt clip on |
Answer: | If you can afford a carving jack why would you even consider buying this ??? don't get me wrong it's a good little knife for the money but it's bulky and not ergonomic at all your hand will hurt after a wile and the blades don't lock like the carving jack . You'll have to sharpen it to your liking ,but I rather loose a $ 25 knife in the woods than a $140 any day of the week. over all it's not a bad little knife once is sharpened |
Question: | What is the handle made of |
Answer: | We do not carry a left handed model. |
Question: | I bought this knife and opened it fine. Now I can't close it! Can someone please help |
Answer: | This is sad. I am 63 years old and remember when "Schrade" and "Uncle Henry" were brand names of knives you were PROUD to own and showed off to all your friends. Fortunately I do still have one old 'Uncle Henry" old enough to be of good quality. I recall sharpening a knife (Uncle Henry) for our Sgt and when he cut himself with it the doctor (took 12 stitches inside & out to sew him up) said it looked like he had been cut with a scalpel. I bet you couldn't get one of these new knives that sharp. |
Question: | Can you clean a deer with it |
Answer: | To all those complaining about the blades not locking, a blade lock was developed to keep a knife from closing when it is used to stab, like a folding skinner going through thick hide at the start of a cut (which is the wrong way to start that cut, too, by the way). If you are using this tool in any way that causes the blades to close on your fingers, you don't know how to use the tool, and you're looking for a hardware fix for a training deficiency. Stop blaming the tool and fix your ignorance. Nobody is born knowing how to use a carving knife, or any other type of knife, any more than they're born knowing how to use a hammer, saw, drill, gun, stove, oven, or jackhammer, and you shouldn't expect to expertly use a tool until you've spent some time learning how to. |
