However since they typically have a life span of 30 to 50 thousand hours of use and are not subject to failure due to impact like incandescent bulbs, they just about never need replacement. These days I won't buy a flashlight unless it has an led bulb. " Bulb" isn't even really an appropriate term. Led stands for light emitting diode. They aren't really "bulbs" at all in the traditional sense.
