Answer:	This only comes with the body of the scope. You will have to purchase the eyepiece separately. If you have ANY questions about the scope, call their sales number (I believe it's a California location). They were amazingly helpful for my own questions when I decided to purchase the digiscoping eyepiece.

Answer:	You should be asking this question of an authorized Kowa dealer. But, generally, as with laptops and other high end devices, the lifetime warranty is limited and doesn't cover all possible damages that might arise. A limited warranty applies to the integrity and merchantability of the scope as manufactured and sold. Judging from the tone of your question, I'm not sure I would recommend this scope for you. It is generally acknowledged as the finest optical instrument in its class. Fluorite optics are very expensive but provide the highest degree of color correction attainable. There are some excellent scopes using ED glasses that are considerably cheaper, and depending on your intended use, might suit you better. There is no "money making scam" involved with any optical instrument of this class!

Answer:	On paper? I doubt you'd see holes on paper with any 60 power spotting scope. You might be able to see the splatter on steel at 1000 yards though given there isn't very much mirage.

Answer:	It comes with a cover which acts as protection in transit (you can leave it on all the time), including clip-on covers for the lens (which has it's own rubber gasket cover) and the eyepiece. This is not a carrying case, nor do I think it would support a carry strap clipped to it for very long. The cover is fine to put the scope in a backpack or a suitcase.

Attach the Eyepiece

To attach the eyepiece, match the white line on the eyepiece with white dot on the bayonet fitting. Insert the eyepiece into the body and rotate clockwise a ¼ turn until the eyepiece clicks into place and is lined up with the indicator line.

Mount the Viper HD

Attach the Viper HD to a tripod or car window mount for steady viewing. Simply secure the tripod mount foot on a quick-release plate or directly into the mounting plate receiver of certain tripod heads.The tripod foot attaches to a tripod or car window mount with 1/4” x 20 screw threads.

Adjust the Magnification

Versatile zoom magnification allows you to view a wide field of view at a lower power and zoom in on details at a higher power. Change the magnification by turning the magnification adjustment ring:

• Increase the magnification by turning the adjustment ring clockwise.

• Decrease the magnification by turning the adjustment ring counter-clockwise.

Adjust the Focus

After setting the magnification, some refocusing is usually required. To adjust the focus, rotate the focus dial until images becomes clear.

• Slowly turn the focus dial until the subject is in focus.

Adjust the Eyecup

The adjustable eyecup on the Viper HD spotting scope twists up and down so you can observe the full field of view if you wear eyeglasses or sunglasses. Fully extend the eyecup for best viewing without glasses.

Flexible Viewing Angle

The tripod mounting collar of the Viper allows you to rotate the spotting scope body for greater viewing flexibility.

• Turn the thumbscrew counter-clockwise to loosen the mounting collar.

• Rotate the spotting scope body to a comfortable viewing angle.

• Keep in the preferred viewing position by securing the mounting collar with a clockwise turn of the thumbscrew.

Extendable Sunshade

Extend this fitted hood to effectively block out disturbing stray light. The sunshade also shields the objective lens from mechanical damage and guards against soiling by fingerprints and precipitation.
