2 best scope mounts for weavers

Weaver-style scope mounts are a popular type of mounting system used to attach optical scopes to firearms for shooting and hunting purposes. They are widely used in the sports and outdoors industry due to their durability and versatility. Here's what you need to know about Weaver-style scope mounts:

  1. Design: Weaver-style scope mounts are characterized by a cross-slot design with multiple slots or notches along the mounting rail. These slots allow for flexible positioning of the scope rings, enabling the shooter to achieve the desired eye relief and maintain proper alignment.

  2. Compatibility: Weaver-style mounts are designed to fit on firearms with a Weaver-style or Picatinny rail system. Picatinny rails are essentially a standardized version of the Weaver design, and the two are largely interchangeable.

  3. Scope Rings: Weaver-style mounts typically consist of two separate scope rings that secure the optical scope in place. These rings come in various heights to accommodate different scope sizes and objective lens diameters.

  4. Material: These mounts are commonly made from aluminum or steel, which provides durability and strength to withstand recoil and harsh conditions. Aluminum is lighter, while steel is more robust but heavier.

  5. Installation: Weaver-style mounts are relatively easy to install. They can be attached to the firearm's rail using screws or clamps. Some models also feature quick-detach mechanisms for easy removal and reinstallation of the scope.

  6. Versatility: Weaver-style mounts are versatile and allow shooters to swap scopes between different firearms with compatible rails. This flexibility is a significant advantage for those who own multiple rifles.

  7. Accessory Compatibility: Many accessories, such as red dot sights, laser pointers, and other optics, can also be mounted on Weaver-style rails, making them versatile platforms for customization.

  8. Scope Alignment: Properly aligning the scope in the rings is crucial for accuracy. Many Weaver-style mounts have built-in features, such as recoil stops or alignment bars, to ensure the scope remains securely in place and maintains its zero.

  9. Ring Sizes: Weaver-style scope rings come in various sizes to accommodate different scope tube diameters. It's essential to choose rings that match the scope you intend to mount.

  10. Maintenance: Regular maintenance is essential to ensure the scope mounts remain secure and free from rust or debris that could affect accuracy. Cleaning and proper torque settings for screws or clamps are essential.

In summary, Weaver-style scope mounts are a widely used and versatile mounting system for attaching optical scopes to firearms. They are compatible with Weaver and Picatinny rails, making them a popular choice among shooters and hunters for their durability and ease of use. Proper installation and maintenance are crucial to ensure accuracy and reliability when using these mounts.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this mount fit the Marlin 336 factory drilled holes
Answer: Tough question. Are your levi's really 32? Levis shrink when washed. I wear 32" 5.11. When I snap the waist and measure it's really 36" because of elastic. Amazon is very good about returns if they don't fit. Have fun.
Question: Will this fit a remington 760 gamemaster? Or is this a picitinny only mount
Answer: A very generous 16 inches. Perfect to fit over any work or military boot
Question: Can any post the actual height from the center of the rings to the rail
Answer: May be a tad long as you are a "31/32," but I've found that the sizes for these pants are pretty accurate. I'm 6.0 feet tall and take a 32/33 inseam; the 32 fits me fine.
Question: Has anyone tried this mount with the Nikon P-223 BDC Carbine scope
Answer: I wore mine for the first time yesterday on two separate hikes, the first was 8 miles, outside temp was 80 degrees F, the total elevation gain was 1900+ vertical feet, hiking with about 20 pounds of gear/water in my pack. By the time I reached the summit the crotch was soaked with sweat, seriously it looked like I peed my pants. I'm used to hiking in hot weather and have a variety of hiking pants from lightweight to fleece-lined for different conditions, these were hotter than I anticipated. The second hike was later in the day, at a higher elevation, and with cooler temps, during this hike, the pants finally dried out and were quite comfortable from then on. I think they'd be a perfect early/late season pant. My primary purpose for getting these was the ripstop material and to use them while bushwhacking through dense underbrush. They held up well in the overgrown trail I was on. My solution to the 'breathability' issue will be to add a series of 4 small grommets in the gusseted crotch area to allow for some air circulation, it's an easy fix to an otherwise solid pair of pants. I'll definitely be getting another pair as I like all the pockets, the heavy-duty belt loops, and the durability of the material.

User questions & answers

Question: Looking to mount a vortex strike eagle (30 mm tube) on a 12" ar pistol. will go in front of the rear flip up sight. is a 2-inch offset enough
Answer: my daughter wears these for volleyball and wears a sock underneath the brace and then puts on the shoe. She doesn't get any red marks
Question: Will this fit in an AR w/56mm objective
Answer: I don't know much about men's sizing...however, maybe this will help. I wear a woman's shoe 8-9 and ordered a medium size. 8-9 is considered a woman's average size. If your size is considered a man's average or large, I'd order accordingly. The tonge insert is very stretchable so you don't have to worry about width, you create your own width when you strap the thing together. I absolutely love my brace and truly recommend it.
Question: Will this work on Mini 14 factory weaver rail(582+ series)? What are the lug/groove spacings of the attachment screws? Thanks
Answer: the seller should have a website that gives you sizes. I think I followed a link or googled for ASO ankle brace size chart and found it pretty easily.
Question: Work for Ruger 10/22? I’d like my scope closer to my eye
Answer: Yes, it has flexible, plastic strips inside it. It is the exact brace our doctor ordered at ER after ankle injury. Works great. Our insurance was charged $165.00 for it thru the hospital. It is way cheaper from Amazon. Would recommend. We have 2 ball players and 3 braces. Hope this helps.
Question: will this fit the Savage axis
Answer: Your heal is not covered. Look at the ASO site for more pictures.
Question: Is this the right mount for my Savage model 93 bolt action
Answer: Women's 9-10
Question: is this the right piece for savage axis/edge
Answer: My son wears a size 12-13 shoe & he wears a large.
Question: I don't understand... What advantage is there in me installing this
