12 best rifle scope with rings
A rifle scope with rings is an essential component of a firearms setup, particularly for precision shooting. It is used to improve accuracy and target acquisition. Here's what you need to know about rifle scopes with rings:
Rifle Scope: This is an optical sighting device mounted on a rifle. It helps shooters to aim accurately by magnifying the target, providing better visibility and clarity.
Scope Rings: Scope rings are the mounts that attach the scope to the rifle. They are essentially a pair of rings (usually made of metal) that secure the scope to the rifle's base or rail. They come in various sizes to accommodate different scope tube diameters.
Types of Rings:
- One-Piece Rings: These are a single unit that secures both ends of the scope. They are known for their stability and durability.
- Two-Piece Rings: These come in pairs, with one ring for the front and one for the back of the scope. They allow more flexibility in mounting and adjusting the scope.
Material: Scope rings are typically made from materials like steel, aluminum, or alloy. Each has its own set of advantages. For instance, steel rings are robust and long-lasting, while aluminum rings are lightweight.
Mounting Process: Attaching scope rings involves securing them to the rifle's base or rail, then carefully placing the scope in the rings and securing it with screws. It's crucial to ensure the scope is level and properly aligned with the rifle.
Scope Height: The height of the rings affects the position of the scope relative to the rifle's bore. Low rings position the scope closer to the barrel, while high rings elevate it.The choice depends on factors like the rifle's action type and the shooter's comfort.
Compatibility: It's essential to select rings that are compatible with both the scope's tube diameter and the rifle's mounting system. This ensures a secure fit and proper alignment.
Torque Settings: When attaching the rings to the rifle, it's important to use a torque wrench to apply the correct amount of force. Over-tightening can damage the scope, while under-tightening can lead to instability.
Maintenance: Regularly inspecting and cleaning the scope rings is important for maintaining their effectiveness. This includes checking for any signs of wear, rust, or misalignment.
Quality Matters: Investing in high-quality scope rings is crucial for reliable performance. Cheaper, low-quality rings may not hold up under recoil or maintain alignment.
Remember, selecting the right scope rings for your rifle and scope is crucial for accuracy and consistency in shooting. Taking the time to research and invest in quality equipment is well worth the effort.

Question: | Will these fit a 32mm objective lens |
Answer: | IF I AM RIGHT 1 LBS- 6 OZ, YOU CAN FEEL THE WEIGHT |
Question: | Would this fit my savage 93 17hmr rim fire rifle |
Answer: | A springer air rifle will KILL this scope. It will literally fall apart, mine did. This scope is a good value, but not for spring powered air rifles. |
Question: | will these fit the henry ar |
Answer: | A good way to set up your scope is to mount your scope and bore sight it. With a bolt action, remove the bolt, set the rifle in a gun vise (like a lead sled), set a target at 25 yards, look thru the bore and adjust the scope to same spot on the target that you see thru the bore. (With a lever gun or semiautomatic, you will need a laser bore site). Fire a shot at the target. You should be on the paper. Adjust the shot to the center of the target. Now set a target at 100 yards and fire a 3 round group. Adjust your scope to the center of the group and fire another shot. This should put you dead center at 100 yards. Follow the ballistics charts for your rifle caliber as a guideline for bullet drop and trajectory. There is no better way to find out what each mil dot represents than to fire your rifle at different ranges to know what yardage each dot will represent. |

Question: | Will this work on a remington 597 22lr factory rail |

Question: | Will this fit a 22 cricket |

Question: | Will the stop pin fit on a regular rail or does it need a hole to register in |

User questions & answers
Question: | It says shockproof, is the gun actualy rated for use on an air rifle |
Answer: | No they won't, these work on the 11mm rail that is on air rifles and many older 22s. The 597 uses a 22mm weaver rail that most centerfield rifles use, get medium height rings for a weaver rail and you are good to go. That's what works on my 597 with factory rail |
Question: | will this fit marlin model 60 with equipment provided with scope thankd |
Answer: | If the cricket has the smaller, rimfire / air rifle grooves or rail then yes, 11mm = 7/16" is what this fits. |
Question: | What size rings come with this scope |
Answer: | It will fit on a regular rail, no pin stop hole required. The pin stop on the scope ring is a allen wrench screw in the center of the ring. You can raise and lower it using a allen wrench. |
Question: | Will this work on a Ruger 10/22 Carbine |
Answer: | The pin is there to keep scope mount from sliding. Depends on the manufacture as to whether you can pull or tap pin out. Hope that helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Work for m1a eye relief |
Answer: | If you want to do a durability test to see how many times you can send a pellet down range before it refuses to hold zero, you can use it on a magnum air rifle. If it is a variable pump, non-magnum (Below 1000 FPS) inert gas, springer (any speed below 700 FPS) or a PCP air gun the answer will be yes. Otherwise if you do expect to use it on a spring piston(springer) or magnum speed rifle of any make the answer will be you can try but your durability will suffer. I have killed 4 scopes over the last 2 years putting them on my pellet rifles(Barksa, Centerpoint, Simmons and Gamo). Now I use magnum airgun rated scopes (Cabela's Brand the best so far and UTG/Leapers). |
Question: | Will this fit on a chiappa m |
Answer: | Yes, I put it on my 30+ year old Marlin model 60 with the included rings and it not only bolted right on, but I was on paper at 50 yards with the first shot group - only about 4" off target with no pre-sighting at all! |
Question: | Would this mount be strong enough for use with a shotgun |
Answer: | The rings that come with this scope will not securely attach to the dovetail on either a Marlin XT-22 or a Marlin 795. There is a lot of the scope creep. For the XT-22 I bought weaver scope bases, for the Marlin 795 I ended up buying a UTG air rifle base with integral rings. The scope is great, the rings that come with it are subpar though. |
Question: | What is the height from top of rail to bottom of ring |
Answer: | I have it mounted on my 10/22 takedown. Fits in the carrying case when mounted, but barely. Great scope for that rifle imo |
- -- One of the rings has a stop pin the bottom of it for rock solid application
- -- With four screws Design, it will hold the scope more securly than a single screw on both sides
- -- Scope Rings Type: Medium Profile (14mm),Fit for a .22 rifle or an air rifle using a 3/8" or 11mm dovetail mount

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these fit & work ok on a Henry 001 lever 22 or oo3T pump (dovetail rails |
Answer: | It worked just fine for me. I would buy another one. |
Question: | Will this fit the rail of a Ruger .177 pellet rifle |
Answer: | I don’t think the rail will fit to the Chiappa ! |
Question: | will these fir a benjamin 342 air rifle |
Answer: | The mount attaches to the rail with four screws. Each screw has a cleat that locks into the rail so I can’t imagine this mount would shift on the rail. Each of the scope rings has four screws and plenty of surface area to grip the scope. Even though it says “slim” it seems plenty strong enough for heavy recoil. |
Question: | will these fit on a ruger american |
Answer: | The height between the top of the base to the bottom of the scope rings is 1 inch, providing 1 inch of vertical clearance. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Do these require relief cuts across the dovetail for clearance to the tightening bolt |
Answer: | If you've got a 1" scope and a dovetail rail, they should work fine. Work very well on my 10/22 (Ruger). (Hoping to get a Henry for Christmas...but afterwards will prob'ly just be wishing I did. lol Nice rifles.) |
Question: | Will you still be able to see the iron sights if you mount a 50mm scope on these rings |
Answer: | It fits 11mm That is roughly 7/16 if you have no metric measuring tools. You can google the size of the rail for your Ruger since I know nothing of pellet rifles |
Question: | will these fit a crosman 1077 air pellet gun |
Answer: | As long as that rifle has a "male" 11mm dovetail for scope mounting. |
Question: | How tall are these mounts? I want to know if they are high enough so that a 40mm front optic will clear my Marble's bullseye rear sight |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will these work on the AR15 rifle, if so what height is recommended |
Answer: | Yes, these mounting rings work perfectly on an AR15. I have them mounted on my AR15 and they are 1.5" high from the mounting grooves to the center of the scope rings. However, they are not compatible with the standard AR15 iron sights or the standard 'Carry Handle' upper receiver of a stock AR15. In order to use these rings, the AR15 must have a 'Flat Top' upper receiver. However, you don't have to give up iron sights in order to mount a scope. There are various 'Back-Up' iron sights (BUIS) available that can be mounted on the side of the upper rail and used in case the scope gets damaged or out of alignment. There are photos on the internet that will illustrate the above setup. Hope this helps! |
Question: | will these fit 20mm picatinny rail |
Answer: | Yes. Should fit fine. |
Question: | Will these rings work in picattini bases? What brand you recommend |
Answer: | These rings will work w/any Weaver style bases to include picitiny Bases. Jon |
Question: | Will these sit high enough for a crossfire II 50mm scope |
Answer: | These Vortex Hunter Rings (Medium) position the center of the riflescope tube at a height of 0.87 inches (22.0 mm) from the base.http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-hunting-1-inch-rings-mediumThe front "bell" of most of the 50mm Crossfire II scopes that use 1" rings is either 2.44" wide (4-12x50) or 2.24" wide (3-9x50) so whichever one you are talking about, cut that number in half (1.22 or 1.12). Then if you put a straight edge on your scope bases, measure up 0.87 inches (center height of the MEDIUM rings). If that is at least 1.22 or 1.12 off the barrel (depending on which 50mm Crossfire II you are looking at) the MEDIUM rings will work. If not you will need the HIGH rings (position the center of the riflescope tube at a height of 1.22 inches (31.0 mm) from the base) will be needed. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it fit a 3/8 rail |
Answer: | I don't know that I understand exactly your question, I bought two sets of these scope mounts, and put them on two Savage 64F rifles, with very little work, just basically tightening up the dovetail bolt and sighting in the scope, no other work was necessary for my set up. The see through base allows us to use the iron sights, or also use the scopes depending on the target we are using. I am happy with these mounts on the 22LR rifle, although I don't know anything about using them on a higher caliber rifle. |
Question: | Can you easily see hard sights through these |
Answer: | Depends on how tall the iron sights are. I measured 32mm from center of scope to bottom of iron sight hole on the scope ring and 7mm from bottom of hole to dovetail. So if your iron sights are shorter than 14mm, you should be good. |
Question: | Will this fit a pinty (or cvlife) 3-9x40 red green rangefinder illuminated optical sniper rifle telescopic scope |
Answer: | Yessss |
Question: | Will these work on the gamo air rifles. Gamo uses the smaller rail |
Answer: | I have a Remington 597 with a 3-9X40 scope and and I have plenty of clearance for my iron sights. The bottom of the tube of the scope looks like it sits about an inch above the receiver with the mounts I have. |

- Sold two rings per package.
User questions & answers
Question: | With this fit my vortex 20x50 scope on a precision rifle? I bought the medium rings and they are to small |
Answer: | yes |
Question: | Is it 19.00 for 1 or a pair |
Answer: | On my rifle I can only see the front sight through the mounts. |
Question: | will these fit weaver mount. base |
Answer: | IT DEPENDS HOW FAR YOUR 1 in. tube is from the front of your eye apperature, also the same for your 50 mm front apperature and if you would have enough room to slide your scope back and forth for proper eye releif. I mounted a cheap scope on Marlin model 60 semi auto with these mounts. |
Question: | I'm fairly new to the shooting sports, when speaking of scope mounting and the rings used to mount the scope, what is mean't by lapping the rings |
Answer: | I don't think it will go any smaller than the dovetail on a standard 22 rifle. Check the distance between dovetail valleys if it's much less than 11mm it won't work. |
