User questions & answers
Question: | Does this scope really weight 2.6 pounds |
Answer: | I didn't really weight it as itself but it didn't add much weight to my gun. My Remington 700 with heavy barrel was heavy already. |
Question: | Would this work on a ruger 308 precision rifle? Model |
Answer: | I dont see why not. You will need high rise scope mounts though. I have it on a Ruger American 30.06. |
Question: | Does this have an illuminated reticle |
Answer: | No, the reticle is not illuminated per se...when the illumination is enabled it places a "red dot" in the center of the cross-hairs of the reticle. The red dot is visible in low light situations and will be very hard to see in daylight hours...but very handy for fast target acquisition in low light. Here is a link to their site with a picture. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/crossfire-II-1-4x24-riflescope-with-v-brite-moa-reticle/reticle |
Question: | How is the glass? Sight clarity? Especially when you put it at |
Answer: | Excellent for the price. Not going to compare to my Razor HD in glass quality or features, but $200 vs $2500, it's unbeatable value and warranty. I have at least 7 crossfires of different sizes on calibers from 22 to 30 cal. Clarity is good enough to watch the bullet trace from a 22lr hit paper at 100 yards at 24x and see all of the bullet holes. Clarity further out is still quite good as well. I highly recommend them. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I'm putting this scope on my AR what height rings and offset would be good for this with a large 56 diameter do I need High rings |
Answer: | I bought 1.45 inch rings. Perfect height to retain cheek weld. |
Question: | Does butler creeks size 51 scope cover fit this objective |
Answer: | Vortex claims 31 mils of elevation adjustment, mine has slightly more. With a 40 MOA rail the scope has about 26.5 mils of up elevation adjustment. This is beyond what my abilities can accurately produce. The rifle and bullet combo i have should get out to at least 1900 meters. |
Question: | could you count antlers at 100 yds at dusk |
Answer: | Jason, Not at all. I bought mine specifically to for my .22 (to use primarily at NRL .22 matches) that I only shoot out to 300yds. The clarity, magnification range, and 15 yard parallax setting are all very useful. As far as magnification-better to have it and not need it if on the fence-the 25x may come in handy to ID deer, etc. Lower ranges extremely clear as well. You won't be disappointed! |
Question: | I am wanting this to put on an ar 223 5.56 will it be a good match on this rifle and what type mounts would you recommend. Thank You in advance for yo |
Answer: | Yes, it comes with both rubber caps and screw on shade. |

User questions & answers
Question: | When i bought this it was $299.00. now its $249.00. why |
Answer: | It came to me in a brand new box. It also had a warranty card. |
Question: | Do you have a quick release levered mount with the same low profile as the stock Vortex mount you can recommend |
Answer: | Hi, Yes it comes with a sunshade. What an awesome scope it turned out to be. |
Question: | Is this a dual color ring |
Answer: | It ultimately depends on what you're mounting it to, but typically you will need high rings for the 50mm objective on a 1" tube. I put mine on a rimfire with an 11mm to pictinny adaptor rail. That raised it up enough for me to get by with medium rings, but otherwise I'd need high. |
Question: | When you guys received you spitfire, was the box in a sealed package or just a normal vortex box |
Answer: | Hi! It all depends on the rifle you own. As you know the lower the scope the better it is. The 50 mm front of the scope has to clear the rifle. I mounted this scope on my Ruger 10-22 with the med ring and it is OK . I also brought the high rings just in case I switch rifle so day. How this answer you looking for |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can anyone speak to this scopes low light performance |
Answer: | 30 mm scope rings, definitely "High" mount separate rings or a Cantilevered AR mount with 1/4" - 1/2" risers below the AR mount. |
Question: | does this have a mil dot reticle |
Answer: | Not sure, I do not prefer Butler Creek scope covers, the scope comes with Vortex cover/caps, if I were to go with an alternative to the factory covers I would go with one of the bikini style that cover the entire scope, several manufacturers make them. |
Question: | How far can you shoot with this |
Answer: | That would depend on the setting. The optics on the scope are crystal clear but I don't see that it gathers more light than cheaper scopes. You get what you pay for. If you want world class or if you're only getting 1 scope to last for years and years then go buy a Leupold. If you're easy to please, get the vortex. |
Question: | what size flip cap covers fit on here |
Answer: | I don't know if this will work on your gun or not. I had a hard time making it work on my rifle, a .300 win Mag., but I did get it to work and the scope worked most excellent. I would recommend that you use a pictinney rail base with at least 15 MOA rise. I would also recommend that you go with the highest Vortex rings you can fine. |

Product Overview
Specifically designed for discriminating hunters and shooters, the Diamondback Tactical series of Riflescopes offer the highest levels of performance and reliability. With generous long eye relief, rugged construction and precise, smooth controls, the Diamondback Tactical Riflescopes are ready for any situation.
Exposed tactical turrets built for dialing elevation and windage allow quick and precise bullet drop and wind drift compensation at extended ranges. When we say precise-we mean it. These turrets track better than any Bloodhound and reliably return to zero every time. A zero-reset feature lets you re-index the zero reference marks on both turrets after sight in, while fiber optic rotation indicators integrated into the turrets provide a visual cue of your turret’s position.
Dual use for Shooting Tactical/Hunting.
VMR-1 MOA Reticle
- Designed to maximize long distance shooting and ranging abilities, the VMR-1 MOA reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, windage corrections and moving target leads.
- Second focal plane (SFP) reticles are located near the scope’s eyepiece behind the image erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle does not visually change in size when you change the magnification. The advantage of an SFP reticle is that it always maintains the same appearance. Listed reticle subtensions used for estimating range, holdover, and wind drift correction are only accurate at one particular magnification.
Optical & Internal
XD Lens Elements: Extra-low dispersion (XD) glass increases resolution and color fidelity, resulting in crisp, sharp images.

Precision-Glide Erector System: Uses premium components in the zoom lens mechanism to ensure smooth magnification changes under the harshest conditions.
Convenience
Fast Focus Eyepiece: Allows quick and easy reticle focusing.
Fiber Optic Radius Bar: The fiber optic Radius Bar visually assists tracking turret rotations.
Magnification Rib: The raised rib on the magnification ring facilitates fast magnification changes in the heat of action.
Construction
