Answer: Yes, clear and amber caps connected by elastic bands
Question: Does this scope have 1/4-inch at 50 Yards Reticle Adjustments
Answer: 1/4 moa adjustments equals 1/4"@ 100yards per click.

User questions & answers

Question: When i bought this it was $299.00. now its $249.00. why
Answer: It came to me in a brand new box. It also had a warranty card.
Question: Do you have a quick release levered mount with the same low profile as the stock Vortex mount you can recommend
Answer: Hi, Yes it comes with a sunshade. What an awesome scope it turned out to be.
Question: Is this a dual color ring
Answer: It ultimately depends on what you're mounting it to, but typically you will need high rings for the 50mm objective on a 1" tube. I put mine on a rimfire with an 11mm to pictinny adaptor rail. That raised it up enough for me to get by with medium rings, but otherwise I'd need high.
Question: When you guys received you spitfire, was the box in a sealed package or just a normal vortex box
Answer: Hi! It all depends on the rifle you own. As you know the lower the scope the better it is. The 50 mm front of the scope has to clear the rifle. I mounted this scope on my Ruger 10-22 with the med ring and it is OK . I also brought the high rings just in case I switch rifle so day. How this answer you looking for

The generous, parallax-free, sight picture and forgiving eyebox gets shooters on target effortlessly - even in high-stress scenarios.

1. Look through the scope at a blank white wall or up at the sky.

2. Turn the eyepiece focus dial in or out until the reticle image is as crisp as possible.

Mounting the Spitfire

Orient the Spitfire so the adjustment buttons face the shooter.

User questions & answers

Question: In your opinion, at 1x, is there any perceptible magnification? do you use yours with the bindon aiming concept successfully
Answer: The scope has no magnification at 1x and works like a conventional red dot sight like Aimpoint. There is no need to use the bindon aiming concept. This was a concept that was adopted for use with the 4x fixed power ACOG at close range. Although Heavy, the Viper is a great scope that pulls true double duty as mag optic and CCO. The USMC is evaluating this type of optic to possibly replace the 4x ACOG , as we speak. S/F Mike
Question: I'm planning on installing a vortex ebr-4 on my tikka t3x... what is the correct scope mount height for this combination
Answer: I have this exact combo in 6.5 Creedmoor. Looking at my old order, I bought "Vortex Optics Precision Matched Rings 30mm - Height 1.26 inches - Picatinny Mount " from Amazon and they work great for me. They're not cheap though, but neither was the scope.
Question: Where is the glass from
Answer: Hello, The glass used in the Vortex Optics Viper PST Gen II 1-6x24 SFP Riflescope VMR-2 MOA is made in Japan.
Question: Does Vortex make this scope in a ffp
Answer: They do make the scope in ffp.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this scope really weight 2.6 pounds
Answer: I didn't really weight it as itself but it didn't add much weight to my gun. My Remington 700 with heavy barrel was heavy already.
Question: Would this work on a ruger 308 precision rifle? Model
Answer: I dont see why not. You will need high rise scope mounts though. I have it on a Ruger American 30.06.
Question: Does this have an illuminated reticle
Answer: It has a illuminated center dot that lights up red. Very nice to have. I've had scopes that had the whole reticle light up and it was way too much goin on in the scope and it would drain the battery way too fast. The center dot is simple effective and great on the battery. Plus with the crosshairs you won't even need the dot about 90% of the time.
Question: How is the glass? Sight clarity? Especially when you put it at
Answer: Excellent for the price. Not going to compare to my Razor HD in glass quality or features, but $200 vs $2500, it's unbeatable value and warranty. I have at least 7 crossfires of different sizes on calibers from 22 to 30 cal. Clarity is good enough to watch the bullet trace from a 22lr hit paper at 100 yards at 24x and see all of the bullet holes. Clarity further out is still quite good as well. I highly recommend them.

  • Extra-low dispersion glass and XR fully multi-coated lenses give the brightest views possible. The extremely accurate hashmarked based reticle works especially well at extended ranges.
  • VMR-1 MOA reticle can be used to effectively determine ranges, holdovers, windage corrections and moving target leads.
  • With distinctive, responsive dialing, the exposed tactical turrets are built with the shooter in mind. A zero reset feature keeps zeroing simple and quick.
  • Strong o-ring seals, nitrogen purging, and shockproof construction guarantees rugged, waterproof and fogproof performance.

User questions & answers

Question: Can anyone speak to this scopes low light performance
Answer: 30 mm scope rings, definitely "High" mount separate rings or a Cantilevered AR mount with 1/4" - 1/2" risers below the AR mount.
Question: does this have a mil dot reticle
Answer: Not sure, I do not prefer Butler Creek scope covers, the scope comes with Vortex cover/caps, if I were to go with an alternative to the factory covers I would go with one of the bikini style that cover the entire scope, several manufacturers make them.
Question: How far can you shoot with this
Answer: That would depend on the setting. The optics on the scope are crystal clear but I don't see that it gathers more light than cheaper scopes. You get what you pay for. If you want world class or if you're only getting 1 scope to last for years and years then go buy a Leupold. If you're easy to please, get the vortex.
Question: what size flip cap covers fit on here
Answer: I don't know if this will work on your gun or not. I had a hard time making it work on my rifle, a .300 win Mag., but I did get it to work and the scope worked most excellent. I would recommend that you use a pictinney rail base with at least 15 MOA rise. I would also recommend that you go with the highest Vortex rings you can fine.

With generous long eye relief, rugged construction and precise, smooth controls, the Diamondback Tactical Riflescopes are ready for any situation.

Exposed tactical turrets built for dialing elevation and windage allow quick and precise bullet drop and wind drift compensation at extended ranges. When we say precise-we mean it. These turrets track better than any Bloodhound and reliably return to zero every time. A zero-reset feature lets you re-index the zero reference marks on both turrets after sight in, while fiber optic rotation indicators integrated into the turrets provide a visual cue of your turret’s position.

Dual use for Shooting Tactical/Hunting.

Viper HS 4-16X50 LR Dead-Hold BDC Riflescope (VHS-4307-LR)

Want to extend your effective shooting range at distances where bullet drop and wind drift become critical? Take a look at the Viper HS LR riflescope. The LR stands for long range-and we mean it. This riflescope features an exposed target-style elevation turret built for dialing elevation at extended ranges. The capped windage turret maintains the scope’s sleek lines and prevent it from hanging up on clothing, rifle cases or pack scabbards.

Viper HS LR riflescopes feature an advanced optical system highlighted with a 4x zoom range for magnification versatility. A forgiving eye box with increased eye relief gets shooters on target quickly and easily. Built on an ultra-strong 30mm one-piece machined aluminum tube for increased windage and elevation travel and optimal adjustment.

Dual use for Shooting Tactical / Hunting.

Dead-Hold BDC MOA Reticle

  • Customized hashmark design helps eliminate guesswork on holdover and windage corrections. Good for hunting/shooting at varying ranges where estimating holdover is a concern.
  • Second focal plane (SFP) reticles are located near the scope’s eyepiece behind the image erecting and magnifying lenses. This style of reticle does not visually change in size when you change the magnification. The advantage of an SFP reticle is that it always maintains the same appearance. Listed reticle subtensions used for estimating range, holdover, and wind drift correction are only accurate at one particular magnification.
  • Fast focus eyepiece allows quick and easy reticle focusing.
