| Answer: | I use "rechargeable" batteries for my cameras but Ni-MH are all 1.2v and the recommended alkaline batteries are 1.5v. So, are at 80% strength upon initial installation. My 180i consumes battery power so last about a week, 12 AA batteries. So, the battery box has a very large capacity, and can power a camera that is a long distance away. If you install a solar power panel, it will require no battery switch out. The only thing that would be semi usable to this would be lithium AA batteries rated at 1.5 volts versus 1.5 volts and buying 12 of those would cost a lot more. The only thing I questioned Moultrie on was 12 AA batteries in the 180i camera was that is 18 volts, not 12, but confirmed this 12 volt box is compatible. |

It features the simplicity of Moultrie’s Quick-Lock system that allows for easy, no tools required setup. There’s a digital timer for programming up to four daily feed times, each with an adjustable duration of 1-20 seconds. The metal spinner plate is designed to resist performance-robbing interference by the wind. And like other Moultrie feeders, it has an external power port for optional Moultrie solar power sources. A Feed Level Estimator helps cut out the guesswork of knowing when to fill the hopper.
Spinner Plate
You could make a good case that the spinner plate is the most critical component in feeder performance. It may look simple, but a lot of thought went into the design of our metal spinner plate. It needed some type of barrier against the wind, but that barrier couldn’t impede the flow of feed. The solution is a galvanized metal design that blocks the wind, yet maintains its slick surface over years of cake-free operation.
Programmable digital timer
Control how much feed you want to cast and when you want to cast it. Programmable digital timer allows up to four daily feed times. The duration of each feed time can also be set from 1 to 20 seconds.
Quick-Lock
It’s always a good idea to carry tools. You never know when you might need them. But don’t expect to use tools when attaching a Quick-Lock feeder kit to a compatible Moultrie hopper. Two hands are all that's required. Just push together and twist for a secure lock. That’s all there is to it. And since Moultrie offers a range of Quick-Lock hoppers and feeder kits, you’ve got options—every one of them is easy.
External power port
Anything that can reduce battery replacement trips is a significant benefit for a feeder. The Quick-Lock Feeder includes an external power port that accepts the 6-Volt Deluxe Solar Panel or Feeder Power Panel. You can use either to recharge the 6-volt battery that’s required to power the feeder. The Feeder Power Panel can also be used as the only power source.
Fewer hopper surprises
