Answer:	Depending on the type of light mount you but with a compact underbarrel mount on my mossberg 500 it fits but is snug. Since the scabbard is basically two pieces put together around edge it gets tighter toward the end. I think it would probably fit as long as you have and 18" barrel

Answer:	They are, but they're really sturdy. I wouldn't remove the light and battery for range trips, as this will expose the battery chamber to the elements. The weak point of this light is actually the two roll pins in the back that keep everything together. The recoil tends to drive them out. So after every 25-50 rounds give them a couple taps with a roll pin punch and a ball peen hammer until they're flush. This will prevent having to ship the unit back to Surefire.
