Answer:	The safe did not come with a locking cable. It only came with 2 bolts to bolt it down if you desired to do so. You would have to buy the locking cable separate.

Answer:	From the bottom of the unit to the tip of the fully opened lid is 9.75 inches. Remember, the lid is controlled by a gas operated strut, which only goes from closed to fully open. I you deactivate the strut, which I wouldn't advise, you can easily remove the weapon from an open space of 3.5 inches above the height of the safe. I hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, the reviews and consumer photos for model pp1k are very misleading. The model is not electronic or biometric in any way. I was misled and therefore surprised when I opened the box and found a simple key-locking mechanism, but that's the model and that's what I bought.

Answer:	If they say it is, they're lying. In fact, the seal around that gas spring on the left hand side will more than likely fail and spray oil all over whatever is in the container in a fire. Most of them only hold up to a few hundred degrees at best and a house fire is 800-1200F.

Answer:	Nothing was mentioned in the material I received. But, with confidence I would say no. The top lid is not thick enough to protect items inside from high heat. The inside is not air tight or waterproof. If that is required, I would look to a heavier-duty safe that clearly states its fire proof rating.
Question:	Can you drill a hole in the side for a cable lock
Answer:	I can't see how that would work, since the cable would pass thru the drawers. However, there are mounting holes on the underside, and there are screws provided. It is intended for mounting on a horizontal surface. The instruction manual reads (in part): "IMPORTANT Mounting the safe vertically so that the door flips upward will result in incomplete opening of the save due to weight. The door will open if the safe is mounted vertically so that door opens down or to the side."
